I find it disturbing that the same Council member who went on this disgusting rant, spreading antisemitic conspiracy theories is now labeling Cleveland residents "Hamas". At some point City Council has to police its own.
Last week was a clown car of anti-democratic scheming in CLE:
🤑City finds $56m surplus, 3x annual value of People’s Budget; invites 0 resident input
🤡City Council debates how to ~restrict~ speech at meetings
🤮County passes 40-year tax by 1 vote to pay for...a new jail
The gap between insiders and everyone else gets wider. This is democracy in reverse.
Meanwhile electeds are willing to give the ultra wealth the policies they want: https://t.co/TZ883CDhvj

"I’m not anti-Semitic at all, but I am anti-Zionist. I don’t believe they have the right, after 3,000 years, to reclaim the land with western bombs and guns on biblical injunction.”
- James Baldwin
And to say this on Veterans Day when the demographic that you speak of, the people who are “scraping by to live” - include Black, queer and disabled veterans.. many of whom absolutely came out & voted YES.. this comment was distasteful and out of touch at best
@WelleJonathan It's OK, I'll slow it down... turnout is higher in higher income areas. PB would have mostly appealed to people in those areas. People with the privilege of time because they aren't scraping by to live. The ppl who voted Y on Tue aren't all the same as the ppl who vote in PB.
How dare you fix your mouth to say something like this in a city that still hasn’t reckoned with or resolved the issues that still plague our neighborhoods from systemically racist policies like redlining.

@Griff4CLE6@CleCityCouncil Why does the city hire so many temp workers? Surely it couldn't have anything to do with thousands of dollars the temp worker staffing agency gives to the council president!
This cis woman—like me and others with PCOS hirsutism—spends time, $$$ removing full mustache+beard we naturally grow. Facial hair removal is a gender affirming process we do just like trans women to make our physical appearance match our gender identity.
All the orgs opposing the People's Budget charter amendment either benefit from the status quo or stand to benefit from it, not exactly what you would call honest brokers. They've all been pretty blunt about it too https://t.co/nM5LkewyqG
