.@POTUS tells 1776 Award finalist Summer Brondstetter he'll write her a recommendation to her first-choice school, Hillsdale College. Congratulations, Summer! We're proud of your hard work studying American civics.
And we'll be keeping our eye on the mail, Mr. President.
Mamdani can't make socialism work long-term. @Hillsdale economist Dr. Pongracic explains why.
“It taxes the productive people in the economy, and when it taxes them, it incentivizes them to actually work less and to create less tax revenues. Bureaucracies will inevitably want to spend more and will run out of money.”

Today, as I'm visiting @Hillsdale College to speak about my upcoming book, "Killed to Order," I learned about something truly beautiful contained in Hillsdale's Articles of Association:
The founders enshrined that "the diffusion of sound learning is essential to the perpetuity of" the blessings "resulting from the prevalence of civil and religious liberty and intelligent piety."
What an incredible north star to have to guide you through tumultous times!
"The old-fashioned ideal of student athletics survives at hundreds of colleges and universities that belong to the NCAA’s second and third divisions, where the students really do go pro in something other than sports."
Some of my favorite memories from @Hillsdale were in the stands supporting the same athletes @heymiller writes about here. Worth a read:

Yesterday, I was talking with two of my students at the station. The topic of Parents Weekend came up, the twice-yearly opportunity for @hillsdale professors to meet with the parents of students.
"Do you ever get any gifts from parents?" they asked.
Nope. I didn't even know that is a thing. Never heard of it.
"Oh, sure," they explained. "Sometimes it's a bottle of wine. If you *did* get a gift, would you want wine?"
No, I'm not a drinker. But what I would love? Pizza. Really good pizza. Like Lou Malnati's. It's hard to find truly great pizza here.
Today, both were working the event, helping things run smoothly. They dropped this off.
"We wanted to make sure you got a gift!"
The milkshake was a bonus.
@hillsdale students are awesome.
IMLS aims to spark “a renaissance of patriotism, intellectual rigor, and innovation in our cultural institutions.”
Both @prageru & my alma mater @Hillsdale advised on the Freedom Trucks, but neither took a cent of federal 💰

@lulumeservey This email was required reading for my PR team.
It’s rewritten to be a rom-com and avoid any responsbility: “While attending a Coldplay concert in July and unwittingly appearing on the kiss-cam for a few seconds, Cabot’s life blew up in an instant.”
Two astronauts, one Orion’s Belt, and a @Starlink satellite. Best comment so far: “Hey what’s the WiFi password!” from a tiny Batman kid. @elonmusk@cmdbass
