For decades the British Embassy in Argentina backed media networks that sold anti-military, anti-development talking points. FOPEA sits in that orbit: a journalists’ club that spends its energy attacking Milei and almost none defending the country’s right to use its own resources.

The same playbook ran through NGO proxies. Greenpeace and Amnesty helped lock public opinion against mining, oil and energy so Argentina would stay poor and unarmed. That strategy is still running.

Greenpeace will blockade a project on the mainland but It will not campaign against Sea Lion off the islands. The target was never “the planet.” It was Argentine development.

Since assuming the presidency, Milei has been very clear: Argentina must develop, defend its sovereignty, and wield significantly greater geopolitical weight. Being weak led to a loss of decision-making power regarding our sovereignty.

Argentina no longer wants to be weak, and that won't sit well with many people. We don't care; our future must depend on us and no one else.
