Another softball interview, another series of obvious lies from the president.
Here's a fact check of a whole bunch of false claims Trump made in a New York Post podcast interview released this morning – all of them, of course, unchallenged:

Yesterday available FIFA inventory suddenly dropped from 74k to 30k tickets.
It's the post-Covid US ticketing model:
1) start with high prices
2) slowly release inventory
3) occasionally remove supply
4) steer seats to hospitality
5) only cut prices if absolutely necessary
NYT out with a jaw dropping investigative report on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. 60 Minutes reported last Sunday on some of this, too. The NYT report is a must-read, the 60 Minutes report should then be watched. 1/3
President Trump’s $1.8 billion payout fund has provoked outrage and criticism, with one expert saying it could be used to pay off Trump’s allies and calling it “one of the single most corrupt acts in American history.” https://t.co/j7TfK24owd
This claim is a LIE. Congress created adjustment of status in 1960. It's not a loophole. In fact, @USCIS's OWN WEBSITE says that getting a green card from inside the United States was expressly intended by Congress!
Just wait; give it 24 hours and they'll erase that history.
🚨 The Trump DOJ has now moved to dismiss the seditious conspiracy case against Oath Keepers founder Elmer Stewart Rhodes III and several other Oath Keepers who participated in the January 6th insurrection — with prejudice — meaning the charges cannot be brought again.

The Trump admin is quietly deleting info about the Capitol attack from the DOJ website as it prepares to give funds to J6ers. This week, DOJ deleted a press release about one man with an ongoing child solicitation case who came to the Capitol with bear spray. Before and after:
The IRS has agreed to not audit Trump's taxes.
In 2024, we found the IRS concluded in a long-running audit that Trump effectively claimed the same massive write-off twice on a failed Chicago tower.
That audit could have cost him more than $100 million.

COMMENTARY: Let’s say it plainly: There has never been a president as corrupt as Donald Trump.
There is no close second in our history.

The original lawsuit was about the LEAK of Trump's tax returns. The settlement announced Monday created an $1.8 billion fund for January 6 convicts. Those were the two stated purposes.
This morning, the DOJ posted a one-page addendum to the settlement that was not in Monday's nine-page agreement. The addendum permanently bars the IRS from pursuing any examination of Trump, his family members, affiliated individuals, related trusts, and businesses - covering all tax returns filed before Monday's effective date.
The addendum was signed by Todd Blanche alone. Not signed by any IRS representative. Not signed by any Trump lawyer. The original settlement had different signatories - Blanche didn't sign it at all. The document metadata shows it was prepared at 7:50 AM Tuesday. The DOJ has not explained why this wasn't in Monday's agreement or why the signatories changed.
Former IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel: he is "unaware of a single precedent where the IRS has agreed in advance to permanently forgo examination of previously filed tax returns for a specific person or business."
Former IRS Commissioner John Koskinen: "Not auditing his returns is the same as giving him an easy way to, in effect, receive money from the government."
The original lawsuit had nothing to do with the audits. The addendum just permanently closed them.
A 57-year-old resident with no criminal history was detained on a layover as she traveled home from visiting her ailing father in France.
She was forced to spend the night in a holding cell and was threatened with deportation.

BREAKING: Take a look at Trump's trades.
You can see a large majority of the millions traded were recently in the new year, and especially after the Iranian war.
The president purchasing Nvidia shares a week before his own Commerce Department allows them to sell one of our most valuable assets to our main geopolitical opponent is unfathomably more corrupt than anything on Hilary Clinton's email server.
A Post analysis reveals the Trump administration’s deportation campaign has removed an unusually high number of men who had lived and worked in the U.S. for years, upending the livelihoods and routines of scores of families. https://t.co/pHQt54pOOb
.@DHSgov says: “Activist Biden judge releases ... illegal alien wanted for murder.” But leaves out 3 facts.
1.Judge never knew of existence of homicide warrant
2.because AUSA never told her ...
3.*because ICE instructed AUSA not to tell her.*

Here's a graph showing interest payments from 1792 to present.
The US has a problem, stemming from historically high primary deficits coupled with interest rates that have rebounded.
If we just hadn't done the Bush and Trump tax cuts, we wouldn't have a problem, though.
