The tragic loss of two UK nationals and the child of a UK national underlines the urgency of our evacuation effort and the bravery of everyone involved.
We will continue to move heaven and earth to get people out and to safety.
I can confirm that Pen Farthing is heading back to UK with his rescue animals (not pets!) His staff are not with him. Efforts continue to evacuate them too. #PenFarthing#OperationArk@domdyer#Nowzad
The clash between the Kabul hero Pen Farthing and Defence Minister Ben Wallace was never about ‘people over animals’ – it’s about our Government’s chaotic evacuation https://t.co/mUIIKrg63f via @mailplus
@Nowzad How can @POTUS@JoeBiden change what is required for people to leave Afghanistan for the UK once they have VISAs approved by the @GOVUK? Absolutely appalling.
@GMB@domdyer70 For anyone who thinks #OperationArk is putting “pets before people”, @PenFarthing has put people (his Afghan staff and their families) ahead of himself, his own life and his animals. Absolute hero. Of course there are others who need help, but that doesn’t invalidate @Nowzad
Dear Sir; my team & my animals are stuck at airport circle. We have a flight waiting. Can you please facilitate safe passage into the airport for our convoy? @suhailshaheen1 We are an NGO who will come back to Afghanistan but right now I want to get everyone out safely. 🙏🏼
.@rickygervais great news to wake up to @PenFarthing @Nowzad finally granted all permissions to airlift from Kabul today. Thank you @BorisJohnson for taking control of this at last. Our thoughts and our hearts are with Pen and his team.
Now that Pen Farthing’s staff have been cleared to come forward under LOTR I have authorised MOD to facilitate their processing alongside all other eligible personnel at HKIA. At that stage, if he arrives with his animals we will seek a slot for his plane. @DefenceHQ
