Thailand faces a cultural identity crisis, repeatedly borrowing from its neighbors, including Myanmar, Laos, Malaysia, and especially Cambodia, often without crediting the original sources.

Culture is NOT a costume for your series. @GMMTV@ScarletHeartTH , your ongoing silence and disrespect towards Myanmar heritage is unacceptable. Show some basic respect and address this immediately!!

Our cultural attire is backed by irrefutable historical evidence, from ancient parabaiks (folding manuscripts) and temple murals to royal stone inscriptions. @GMMTV using our heritage without credit is not just plagiarizing; it is a shameful erasure of our documented history.

Using another country's culture, traditional attire, and heritage without permission, giving no credit, claiming it as your own, and then staying completely silent — is this really the behavior of an internationally successful company? @GMMTV@ScarletHeartTH

Thai media outlets are already reporting on this. As for GMMTV, the party concerned, there has been no official response or statement yet—it’s been two days now, GMM!

We are not asking for much. We are not asking you to cancel the series or re-shoot it from scratch. All we are asking is for you to acknowledge that the traditional dance , attire and culture featured as your own in your series actually belong to Myanmar's traditional heritage, and to give proper credit. Is that really so hard??? @GMMTV@ScarletHeartTH

Even Myanmar fans can provide historical evidence proving that these cultural elements and styles of dress belong to Myanmar. So, what possible reason could @GMMTV have for remaining silent?
When so much time, money, and manpower have gone into creating this remarkable project and people are publicly claiming that its cultural elements belong to our country, why doesn’t @GMMTV confidently step forward and defend its work by providing evidence that these elements are genuinely its own?
As a major production company with considerable resources @GMMTV could seek assistance from historians and cultural experts if necessary. So why does it continue to remain silent in the face of concerns raised by ordinary fans ?
Did @ScarletHeartTH Series really incorporate Myanmar’s cultural elements and traditional attire ? Is @GMMTV remaining silent because it knowingly used Myanmar’s cultural heritage and now has no explanation to offer ?
Let me ask one more question.
Why was there a reluctance to showcase Thailand’s own cultural heritage and traditional attire ? What justifies leaving out its own cultural identity while incorporating the cultural elements and traditional dress of another country ?
Shouldn’t promoting Thailand’s own culture and traditional attire to the world through its soft power be a source of pride ? Was showcasing its own cultural heritage not considered worthy of celebration, or was there some other reason behind this decision ?
We are asking for transparency, historical evidence and an official explanation. If these cultural elements genuinely belong to Thailand, then let @GMMTV present the research and evidence to clarify the matter. We are ready to listen to a well-supported explanation.
