@durkalski @Emolclause Yes, Louisiana was trying to dilute the vote of black voters and are now permitted to do so under this new ruling. The SC permits states, essentially, to benefit white voters as long as the facade of gerrymandering by political intent is stated. TN is even more egregious.

@durkalski @Emolclause The idea of racial gerrymandering is to dilute the largely black districts, point blank, not to preserve the limited amount of power. The wasting of votes comes in this fashion. The hostility is from the GOP to black voters who vote "wrong", so black voting power will be taken.

@raisethablack @notaproviderMD More than one majority black district. The one along the Mississippi River on Mississippi could easily be two districts. As I said, those GOP states congregate significant black votes in one district, leaving the rest more favorable demographics. Opposite in blue states.

@raisethablack @notaproviderMD Keep in mind that black voters in Mississippi, South Carolina and Alabama are often kept in one district in order to make sure the black voters only get the one required protected district. All three of those states have a quarter or more black voters and should be more than one

@raisethablack @notaproviderMD They heavily favor black voters because they are typically concentrated in one area, creating a natural political district and voting bloc. The same happens for white voters all over the country, yet no one really blinks an eye for them, of course.

However, I remain steadfast in my no gerrymandering position, if you district has been done so.
