@spartacus_42069@chess_insights@anishgiri He didn't break the rules; he suggested a shared prize, and FIDE agreed to it. The responsibility lies with FIDE for accepting this proposal and for their failure to design a knockout format that prevents endless draws.
@MagnusCarlsen Nevertheless, they failed in the planning department as to how to prevent infinite draws in this knockout format they proposed this year, so the control is always with FIDE not with Magnus or any other competing players. (2)
@MagnusCarlsen I think this is not a Magnus a problem but a FIDE problem he just proposed for a shared prize and it's upto FIDE to take it or leave it. Ultimately FIDE should have made a firm format to decide the winner by tiebreaks, maybe by armageddon or through some other means. (1)
