TSA warned Europeans not to try to fly home from the World Cup with bottles of ranch dressing.
Kraft is now releasing a pack of TSA-compliant ranch packets that add up to a full bottle.
Story time:
When I was a college intern at a large Aerospace Defense contractor, we had an executive round table with the President of North America.
When it got to my chance to ask a question, I excitedly posed “Is the company considering getting into the space business?”
He laughed and said “No…We see most value in aftermarket services. Getting stuff to space is expensive and really only utilizes single use hardware. So we just don’t see much value in the space industry.”
I slumped back into my chair, embarrassed and dejected. I just had a highly successful Aerospace Executive tell me that there was no value in continuing to chase my dream of working in space industry.
Fast forward 16 years…
Falcon 9 boosters have been successfully reflown over 580 times (life leader having completed 35 flights)
Starlink is the largest satellite constellation ever and connecting 12M+ customers with low-cost internet
Space based data centers are widely regarded as the most cost effective solution for compute in the future
Starship is nearing operational status with fully reusable hardware and the goal of making humanity a spacefaring civilization
@SpaceX just completed the largest IPO in history
I guess there is, in fact, value in the space industry. Never stop chasing your dreams, kids!

I am obviously biased but I firmly believe engineering provides the most diverse skill set for being successful in today’s world. Engineering, at its core, is problem solving. There is so much value in possessing the ability to work complex problems. The world needs more engineers!
We are just getting started!! Incredibly blessed to have been part of @SpaceX for over a decade. Can’t wait to see what we accomplish in the next 5-10 years! To the Moon! 🚀
Danish sums it up pretty perfectly here. Money isn’t the end goal for the vast majority of us at @SpaceX. We are builders hell bent on accomplishing the ambitious goals we signed up to from the outset. Until we accomplish those goals, we will not slow down!
The crazy thing is that the millionaires in elon companies, by and large, do not live like they’re rich either. Many have only 4 or 5 figures liquid and the rest is in company stock.
I know many who could be retired young driving fancy cars in some coastal town, but they choose to work 60 hour weeks instead and store their entire net worth in the equity they’ve earned, because the mission is all that matters.
We have big dreams and a long way left to go.
Really bad day for America’s space program! A lot of us vividly remember the AMOS-6 pad anomaly in 2016 and I don’t wish that experience on anyone. Really glad to hear everyone is safe and wishing the best to everyone at Blue Origin for an expedient recovery!
"Landing a rocket once is hard. Doing it 601 times ... is also extremely hard, if not harder, and requires a continued relentlessness, pursuing full and rapid reusability."
Those are the words of Purdue Engineering alumnus Jon Edwards after learning the @SpaceX Falcon 9 Booster Landing Team would receive the inaugural Neil Armstrong Space Prize.
The first-ever laureates were surprised with the news during a recent announcement. Watch their reactions below ⬇️

I’m super excited to share that we have signed a contract with @SpaceX@Starlink to integrate its mini laser terminals onto our satellites for high bandwidth, low latency connectivity!
@Starlink making an appearance as a major sponsor during the #Indy500. Can’t imagine how the kid (who grew up dreaming of working on rockets) in the stands @IMS 25 years ago would have responded if you told him we would be connecting millions of people from space and advertising that world class internet during the race in 2026.
Onboard views from Starship and Super Heavy V3, which are equipped with upgraded cameras capable of streaming 4K video through every phase of flight via @Starlink
If you’re a cracked engineer and want to build the payload volume of Starship reach out I’m hiring!

Congrats and a huge thank you to the SpaceX team that always delivers. This was an incredible first flight of a brand new vehicle. Our collective future flying amongst the stars has become so much closer.
