He's interviewed absolute legends across multiple domains and never been credentialed media.

The media outlet's reputation/circulation determined merit and whether series gave credentials.
Now, anyone can claim to be a creator.
I'd offer they must build an audience over a respectable threshold for cred.

There's no parallel in US history for such a wide ranging breaking of oaths and complete dereliction of duty.
