It's Not Self-Respect. It's Self-Sabotage.
Seeing people consume this kind of advice always saddens me.
Maybe it worked in 1957. Maybe it even worked 20 years ago. But it's 2026 now, and the world doesn't reward people for quietly waiting to be chosen anymore.
You have to step
Life rewards action far more than it rewards silent dignity.
Real confidence isn't avoiding rejection.
It's becoming comfortable enough with rejection that it no longer controls your decisions.
Because at the end of the day, one "yes" can erase a hundred "no's."

When we were growing up in Nigeria, bats used to fill the evening sky.
I haven't seen one in almost 10 years.
Did bats disappear, or did we destroy the places they used to live? 🦇🤔
