Every time I see this perfect scene in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, I not only weep, but I am desperate to see the camera pull back and reveal Ang Lee and his crew hysterically sobbing too.
Also frankly there are so many terrible fics written by humans. Terrible and very popular fics. So taste as a community is maybe not something we can rely on.
You and I and everyone have already been fooled by AI many times without ever knowing it, and that will just continue. I don't have a solution. But paranoid reading and smug retrojustification cannot be it.
Went to my first pride and made a friend :)
She's a lesbian getting a history PhD and reading Moby Dick. I have a magnet in my brain that attracts these people.
the problem with being a Genius following a Creative Vision is that now I have to write a scene with a kink I feel strongly this character would have but that I don't actually share

@ghostsofspring ooh thank u! this is not my usual area. but from what I've seen poking around on ao3 most cnc stuff is premised on it being the sub's idea. but I think the really interesting part would be the dom reckoning with the fact that they want to (fake) hurt their partner
There are people who are complete interpersonal disasters who are trying the best they can. And there are people doing 100x better who will use their (real!) disability to excuse not being conscientious. The actual frequency/amount of lateness is not the morally salient part
A lot of the conversation hinges on whether someone is making a sincere attempt to be better or not—something that is difficult to tell in real life, and impossible on Twitter
the best part of succession is that it never used flashbacks tbh. a whole show about familial trauma and abuse was weaved into the way everyone interacted with one another, that specific kind of pain you can only pick up on based on how siblings fight and share stories
