No it doesn't you just have an error in your logical reasoning. Please start reading books instead of online posts or at least watch educational youtube videos because you are not comprehending this argument or following through on it in any logical way. I don't want to do the mental work for you.
babe. you just switched up on yourself. you 1. Didn't understand my metaphor 2. stated that saying thomas edison inventing the lightbulb does not include the "progenitor" aka "ancestor" of the lightbulb (which is why i brought up fire, the ORIGINAL form of light) then 3. said that things are "invented by the people who invent them". That automatically discredits your 2nd point. It's not my fault YOU do not know history or how to argue logically. Hopefully you can learn from this interaction and decide to educate yourself!
Interesting that you ignored how I included the black originator of the lightbulb in my metaphor. We could go by your logic though. Let's look the invention of fire, which was by black people in Africa. Black people were the first humans of earth, so we can credit them for all human life. A subcategory of life is music, so black people invented all music. Looks like my original point still stands even with your twisted logic!
There is no doubt white artists added to the genre. However, punk would not exist today without these black artists pioneering the sounds and uses of instruments for decades before punk or metal were used as descriptors for music. the inventors of the lightbulb didn't create half of the types of lightbulbs we see today, but that does not mean that thomas edison and lewis h. latimer did not invent the lightbulb. You get what i mean?
@jimbo_himself@dlml__ the only one keeping you stupid is yourself. if you can't comprehend information, synthesize with background knowledge, and do your own research to form an opinion, you are too far gone for help on twitter. I recommend seeking workshops at your local library.
@Dranger459@HolyBlazer1@dlml__ Bro doesnt know where led zepplin got their sound from AFTER i already explained it... you literally cannot read my guy. Please seek help.
@HolyBlazer1@dlml__ I get u! I was just adding to the statement that punk culture isn't "white culture" bc the music the movement originated from comes from black people. And that music came out of slavery and oppression which i feel created the foundation of punk ideology
@Dranger459@HolyBlazer1@dlml__ If you don't have reading comprehension skills there's nothing I can do to help you understand. Maybe look for adult tutoring centers near you.
Metal/punk were born from blues and rock. Created by black people. Sister Rosetta Tharpe pioneered the electric guitar sounds in metal/punk in the 30s and 40s. Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf played such heavy blues that it still inspires metal/punk bands today. Then Jimi Hendrix absolutely revolutionized the electric guitar in the 60s. The only reason we have metal or punk music today is because black people invented and pioneered the sounds and instruments. Give credit where it is due!
