Everything you need to know about ACP-285, coming in @avax's Helicon upgrade 🔺

ACP-285 lowers the staking reward floor from 10% → 7.5% while keeping the maximum reward unchanged. A 14-day stake drops from 5.36% to 4.08%, while a 365-day stake continues earning 6.38% making long-term staking even more rewarding.

The impact: lower AVAX issuance, a reward budget that lasts longer, and stronger incentives for long-term validators. Rolling out over 90 days alongside ACP-273 & ACP-236, Helicon balances flexible short-term staking with meaningful rewards for long-term commitment.

Most people think buying a hardware wallet solves the security problem.

I ended up with three of them. My security improved, but managing multiple hardware wallets became a hassle. One for trading. One for salary. One for staking.

Managing multiple devices got old fast. @Keycard_ solved this for me. I keep separate wallets on separate cards, insert the card into the Shell, verify everything on the device, and sign through QR codes in a fully air-gapped flow.

One Shell gives you access to multiple wallets, with less friction, better organization, and more control over your self-custody.

Worth a look if you manage more than one wallet.

This walkthrough covers @Keycard_'s card and shell setup with Duress PIN, and SLIP39+passphase recovery.

Duress PIN gives you a separate wallet for situations where you are forced to unlock your device, keeping your primary funds protected.

SLIP39 splits your recovery into multiple shares. Recovery requires a chosen number of shares instead of a single seed phrase, reducing the risk of one backup becoming a single point of failure.

Passphrases add another layer of security; even if someone have all your recovery phrases, they still need the passphrase to generate the key.

These features help protect both access to your funds and your ability to recover them and with Keycard, you get both.
