ALERT: #GasPrices appear to be rising to $4.29/gal today in #Michigan. This is a routine price cycle to an elevated amount due to the ongoing U.S./Iran situation.
@GasBuddyGuy Congrats, man! I appreciate all you do! Your passion has made me passionate about tracking gas prices too! I’ve been passionate about it ever since I graduated high school in 2018. I hope I get to meet you someday!
@GasBuddyGuy I appreciate all your information, Patrick! I know we’ve never met in person, though I hope to someday! You are a true gem, and glad we became friends. Your posts truly inspired me over the years, and I try to keep my friends updated when prices go up.
GREAT LAKES (MI/IN/OH/IL) seeing signs of weakening wholesale gasoline prices. BP issued a statement that ops at the refinery are back to normal. I don't forsee any further increases in these states. HOWEVER- WISCONSIN is likely to climb to $4.59-$4.79 very soon as it catches up.
@GasBuddyGuy Thank you for all your helpful information and being there pal! I’ve been able to pass this along too a number od my friends, and saved over $1/gallon by filling up this morning. You truly are a blessing and friend! Thank you for all your info again, hopefully some relief soon!
ALERT: #GasPrices appear to be rising to $4.79/gal in #Michigan today. This is a price cycle to an elevated amount due to the Iran situation and refinery issues.
GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, Patrick De Haan, says prices could jump between 40 and 80 cents per gallon on Wednesday, April 29, potentially pushing some areas close to $5 per gallon.
De Haan says the increase is largely tied to refinery issues in the region, including an unplanned power outage at the BP refinery in northwest Indiana. The facility is the largest in the area and supplies much of the gasoline used in Michigan and surrounding states.

⚠️ ALERT: #GasPrices are highly likely to spike soon in MI, IN, IL, WI and OH, wholesale gas prices have already surged and retailers have not yet passed the increase on. Prices are likely to jump 50-80c/gal in this area very soon. Refinery issues and rising oil prices to blame.
WAIT TO FILL! Oil is holding losses- good news for drivers. Next up:
• Today: Some stations may still raise prices after yesterday’s spike in wholesale costs
• Next 36 hrs: Most increases should fade; prices may begin to ease
• Weekend: Declines could pick up, with drops of ~1–3¢/gal every ~few days
Beyond that, ceasefire/what follows will be key.
@GasBuddyGuy Thanks, Patrick! Filled up last night in anticipation of this, and made sure to tell friends to fill up too. $2.42 a gallon last week in Traverse City, now $3.69.
