Maryland governor Wes Moore’s 2028 presidential aspirations are collapsing under the weight of his expansively embellished résumé and his allies aren’t taking it in stride.

Records-based reporting from @AndrewKerrNC has undercut key elements of Moore’s life story—first, that he was a “foremost expert” on radical Islam based on an Oxford graduate thesis that neither he nor the school can produce, and second, that his great-grandfather was chased out of the country by the Ku Klux Klan in the 1920s.

“In that sense,” the Free Beacon’s editors write, “the Potomac River overflowing with crap, apparently the largest wastewater spill in American history, is an apt metaphor for the governor himself.”
