Inside Ethereal Machines
From application engineering and real-time analytics to metrology and surface finishing, this is where design complexity meets dependable execution.

Thank you, @anandmahindra.
That is our Factory 1 in the second video of your post. Seeing it there made our team proud.
"Daring to build things we once assumed could only be built elsewhere" is what we set out to do.
The Indian startup ecosystem is on steroids.
And what excites me most is that this isn’t just about software. It’s about deeptech. Manufacturing technology. Hardcore hardware. Cutting-edge chemical processes.
A new generation of Indian entrepreneurs is building the capabilities that could allow us to leapfrog entire stages of technological development.
These videos, courtesy @ashleevance & @RuntimeBRT, offer just a glimpse of what’s being cooked up in labs, workshops & factories across India.
And right on cue, Rajan Anandan, former head of Google India, & Saurabh Srivastava, one of India’s pioneering entrepreneurs & institution builders, have released a book calling India a ‘Lift-Off Nation.’
An apt description.
Because I believe the world is about to witness a tidal wave of technological innovation emerging from India.
And it’s being powered by young entrepreneurs who are daring to build things we once assumed could only be built elsewhere.
My salute to them.

Happy Ayudha Pooja, Dussehra.
A day we gather to honour our tools. The machines we work with every single day, and the instruments that check their work.
Every part we make, and every micron we hold, starts with them.
Wishing everyone a happy Dussehra.

Kaushik Mudda, Co-founder & CEO of @etherealmachine, on India’s precision manufacturing gaps and the need for a stronger “mother machine” ecosystem to build next-generation machinery, at #TechSparks2026.
Our QC team has been waiting for this one.
From today, there is more measuring capacity on this floor than there was yesterday.
Our parts are next.

Our first stable five-axis machine was the twelfth. Nobody outside the company saw the eleven before it.
Ethereal Machines has been featured in a Forbes India article this week on why venture capital is backing Indian manufacturing.
@arpiit of @BlumeVentures is quoted in it.
"Venture capital, by design, is not patient capital, but within this there are patient people who will listen to the founder's story and be patient with tech."
We found them. Our thanks to every investor who has backed us, from 2018 to now.

In 2014, two engineering students wanted to build a robotic arm.
One part of it could only be cut on a CNC machine. So they built the CNC machine first.
That is where Ethereal Machines starts. @ForbesIndia has the full version this month, inside a larger story about Indian companies choosing to own their technology rather than buy it.
Kaushik's line in the article: Our IP sits across hardware, software, and electronics.

This is the crate everyone came out to watch being opened.
Inside it, a ZEISS coordinate measuring machine. Granite base, a bridge that travels across it, and, from now on, the final word on whether anything we make is right.
Metrology runs on a rule of ten. The instrument doing the checking has to resolve about ten times finer than the tolerance it checks. Ten times finer is what separates passed from close.
Every machinist here now has something harder to satisfy. Nobody seems to mind.
We built the machines that cut. We bought the one that judges.
The red braces are still on. When they come off, we will show you the first part it measures.

A tolerance on a drawing is the easy part.
Holding it on the two hundredth piece, a year later, on the same machine, is the capability. That takes years to build, and it does not live in a document. It lives in people, in suppliers, and in how the machines
themselves are built.
So we build the machines (Aura and Nimbus) we cut on. We run them ourselves, cutting parts for aerospace, medical devices and electronics.
When an operator finds something on a platform after a year of cutting, the engineer who drew it hears that from him directly. It changes the next build.
@vipin_sondhi and G Sundararaman go further back than we can, to HMT in 1953. We are glad to be counted in that line. Their conclusion in @businessline is the part worth reading: the question is not which sectors India should back, but which capabilities it should accumulate.
It was a pleasure hosting @ashleevance and the @corememory team at Ethereal Machines.
A great day as our CEO @MuddaKaushik, gave them a tour of our shop floor. The conversation ran from the multi-axis machines we design and build here, to the parts we cut for aerospace, medical, and electronics programs, to the controller we are building to run them.
Thank you for making the trip to Bengaluru.

This is the quietest Factory 2 will ever be. It opens soon.
After that, it does not go quiet again. Day shift, night shift, a spindle turning at three in the morning. The only silence a working floor ever gets is the one it has before it opens.
3X the floor we work on today, waiting for machines we build ourselves.

First aid and CPR training at the factory today.
Our people learned something unrelated to the work they do here. And everything to do with looking after each other.
Now every department has someone who knows what to do in an emergency.

Thank you, Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Hon.Secy @DPIITGoI, for visiting our factory today.
It means a great deal when the government takes an interest in our work. We talked about the machines we build and Vesper, the factory OS that runs them. We built both from scratch, and that is the mission.
Grateful to have the support of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, alongside our journey.
