@natibynaturee @PhD_Barbie @MrAviator1906 Yes! And let’s be entirely honest. There is no grad school out there that is going to go in-depth with EBP modalities where you come out an “expert.” It’s a 2-3 year program. This is something you develop as you evolve in your career.
@PhD_Barbie @natibynaturee@MrAviator1906 Huh? This is entirely untrue. Your practicum requires face-to-face direct, clinical, service with clients and the same goes for LPCs. LPCs can also accumulate their hours in a hospital that doesn’t necessarily look like “traditional therapy.” There are also classes on theory.
thinking about how madonna gave us one of the biggest dance songs of the 21st century at age 47 and danced in the video for it with eight broken bones after falling off a horse a few weeks earlier
My advice to young college kids aspiring to work at non-profits: Don't. Go work for a soulless corporation that pays you in real money and has a decent work life balance and volunteer with a mutual aid org on your own time. These non profits are good person soul sucking vampires.
Non-profits are never going to solve any societal problem. They are bandaids attempting to stop the bleeding on a very large wound caused by capitalism. They're important for mitigating the effects, but not the solution to the suffering. The solution only comes from organizing.
