How does Ethereal mining work? A thread.
The Ethereal contract has a "mine" function. It accepts any data in the form of bytes as a parameter. To become the current miner, you need to find data who's keccak256 hash is the greatest in value.
Greetings.
We have redeployed Ethereal with an updated ticker. The previous one was not the right decision. This token is completely decentralized. It has a long term vision with it's on-chain mining mechanism. The website and whitepaper has been updated with the appropriate fixes.
Thank you.

@thiccsluggar Good point. We will make an update to the website later today to show current miner. For now you can see who the current miner is on Etherscan under "Read Contract"
@thiccsluggar You earned the rewards upto that block you submitted the mine tx for. You will remain the miner and continue to earn rewards until a different miner comes in.
@thiccsluggar Nope. You just need a non-zero balance. Amount you own or how long you hold never matters in the calculation. It is completely fair use for everyone.
The launch price of Ether (ETH) during the @ethereum Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2014 was approximately $0.31 per coin. The ICO raised over $18 million in Bitcoin, with approximately 60 million ETH sold.

During the early days of Ethereum, @VitalikButerin received 1 ETH followed by 499,999 ETH from the Ethereum Foundation wallet. For Ethereal we wanted to mirror that style so to celebrate the 10 year @ethereum anniversary, we have sent a gift of 500,000 Ethereal tokens to Vitalik!

Ethereal has a halving schedule. Meaning every 2,097,152 blocks, the block reward is halved. The initial block reward is 5 Ethereal tokens. Then it'll be 2.5, then 1.25, and so on and so forth.
The person with the greatest hash will earn the block reward of 5 ethereal tokens. Now lets say it has been a couple of blocks without a block reward being issued. It will simply stack to the current miner until the next block finds a new miner.
