We're building a reason to take the long way home. 💍
EtheRings connects movement, game progress and collecting Rings.
This week's Alpha progress: an Android wallet, ERU transfers on Solana Devnet and a test NFT Box.
Sep 14–21 update 🧵
@dappingHQ Exactly. The retry path has to preserve intent, not duplicate payment. Glad you noticed that detail.
The Box → Ring flow is one of the loops I’m most excited to bring online during Alpha. Thanks for following the build 💍

The public build is still off-chain. The Devnet features above are being developed for Alpha, not live in this build.

Some players collect for the stats. Others see a Ring and think: “I need that one.” 💍
26 Ring artworks were published and verified on IPFS this week.
This is pretty much how EtheRings happened. It started as an idea 3 years ago, then sat untouched for a long time. A few months ago I came back to it, built the Android MVP, and now it’s in @colosseum. Sometimes the weird side project is the one worth taking seriously.
We continue to call @colosseum competitions “hackathons” for a reason.
While we’re ultimately looking to fund startups, the very best companies rarely start as one. They often begin as a side project someone can’t stop working on, an idea that seems too small or too weird to be a business, until it creates a market nobody saw coming.
Rebranding what we do as a “startup competition” risks attracting people chasing metas or larping as startup founders.
Even though Colosseum is structurally different from a traditional hackathon, we've found "Hackathon” attracts builders chasing what genuinely interests them.
And I believe that’s where the outliers come from.
@solanagaming Accelerating 😅 EtheRings already has a working Android MVP. Now the next step is bringing the parts that actually benefit from it — ownership, assets and economy — to Solana. Build first, hype later. 💍
@AnarchyAlchemis@colosseum I don’t want to pretend there’s a magic “proof of personhood” fix. The likely answer is layered: account/device controls, anomaly detection, abuse limits, and economics that make farming unattractive.
That boundary is documented in the current EtheRings Whitepaper/docs.
Today it starts.
EtheRings is entering @colosseum’s Crypto World’s Fair. 💍
The MVP already works. Yesterday I froze the pre-hackathon baseline.
Now: Solana, Alpha, and four weeks of building in public.

@AnarchyAlchemis@colosseum Exactly. The daily cap limits damage per account, but it doesn’t solve the “50 phones / 50 accounts” problem.
Right now, step submissions are tied to an authenticated account and installation ID — not to a verified unique human. Sybil resistance is still open.
@AnarchyAlchemis@colosseum If you want the bigger picture, check the EtheRings docs / Whitepaper v0.2. The M2E section explains the idea well: movement feeds the game economy, but it isn’t the whole game or the only source of value. Feel free to poke holes in it — that helps.
@AnarchyAlchemis@colosseum Proper movement anti-cheat is something I still need to solve before real economic value is attached to it.
That’s actually a good edge case to bring up — exactly the kind of thing I want challenged during the hackathon.
@AnarchyAlchemis@colosseum Fair point. Right now, the MVP doesn’t fully solve that.
Android’s step counter provides the movement data, while the backend validates batches, timing, replay/overlap and daily limits.
But shaking the phone or fan-style spoofing is still possible.
Starting point:
✅ Working Android MVP
✅ Move-to-Earn
✅ Draw
✅ Ring inventory & progression
Now the hackathon work begins.
Let’s see how far I can push it in four weeks. 🛠️
