Feels like @ethlabs_org found a nice way to thank @ethlabscommu and everyone from the Ethereum community who has donated so far
and honestly, it makes sense. The #Ethereum community’s donations now represent over 85% of what EthLabs has received, showing once again who decided to stand behind them from the very beginning
excited to see which new supporters will be announced next. Until then, the community can be proud, and we will keep going
Barnabé’s article says a lot about why @ethlabs_org feels important right now. #Ethereum needs a tighter loop between protocol research and real product needs, and EthLabs is being built by people who already know where the gaps are
That is why early support from the Ethereum Community should not be seen as noise. It is people choosing to back a serious R&D effort while it is still taking shape, before the results become obvious to everyone
Proud to see @ethlabscommu standing for that from day one. EthLabs needs support, and the Ethereum Community is already showing up
Support around EthLabs is already becoming visible 💜
@ethlabs_org is not growing from empty words. It is backed by Ethereum names, major contributors, and a community that is choosing to help early
It's a simple story:
EthLabs needs resources to become useful, and the #Ethereum Community is already part of giving it that base
0/ At some point, when things get bigger, when donations become too significant, when support stays constant, and when a community keeps growing stronger day after day
Things cannot longer go unnoticed or ignored
Here’s what should be considered 🧵
Rare to see a new #Ethereum effort start with this much depth behind it 🌟
@ethlabs_org is coming from people who know the protocol, the research gaps, and the real needs around Ethereum from years inside the arena
that creates a different kind of upside
when experienced Ethereum builders open new work around ETH, scaling, finality, and infrastructure, the Ethereum Community gets a new place to build from
This is the part that makes @ethlabs_org very interesting from day one 💜
not just talking about Ethereum growth, but pointing to clear areas where work can be done:
faster confirmations, shorter slots, fast finality, scaling, and infrastructure that keeps Ethereum usable without weakening what makes it different
for the #Ethereum Community, this gives something concrete to follow and support
hello proto! :) good questions! let me take a stab at this.
*early* opinions on work streams: help ethereum be responsibly faster (faster confirmation rule, shorter slots, fast finality), help scale ethereum. we also think asset issuance / interop is one of most important things to get right. building up confidence on how to deploy our constrained resources most effectively. we’ll share more on this in the coming weeks as well.
couple thoughts on neutrality: this is something I consider critical. funding != control over direction and we hold this line strongly. but ofc no need to be naive here, slopes can be slippery. but all I can say is it’s top of mind and we’re making sure at org level that funding has no control over direction. funders super aligned here too btw they get it, think long term and eth is pretty incentive aligned :)
re nonprofit: we discussed this a lot actually but ultimately strongly believe it is necessary for us to do the type of core protocol work and stewardship we intend to do.
positive way to look at it is that it keeps us accountable. ultimately if we do impactful work we’re confident we can find plenty of long term aligned capital. we want to avoid failure cases of a lack of accountability.
btw we should catch up again! :)
What stands out with @ethlabs_org is how practical this can become for Ethereum 🌟
A team close to core research, protocol work, and ecosystem coordination can help turn complex ideas into things builders can actually use
That bridge is important
#Ethereum already has the community. Now every clear workstream, every open contribution, and every useful improvement can help push the ecosystem further
Great to see more Ethereum contributors supporting @ethlabs_org@snzholding's support, especially across Asia, keeps showing the real value behind EthLabs and the mission being built around Ethereum
we’re really happy to see more and more supporters rallying around EthLabs
SNZ is excited to support the launch of @ethlabs_org alongside @BitMNR, @Sharplink, @ethereumJoseph, and other leading Ethereum ecosystem contributors.
The community made Ethereum what it is today — and @ethlabs_org reflects that core belief. As a team of long-term Ethereum contributors and some of the ecosystem’s top-tier engineers, Ethlabs is well positioned to make meaningful contributions across Ethereum.
As a long-term contributor to Ethereum in Asia, SNZ will continue to work with Ethlabs to connect and support researchers, builders, founders, and communities across Asia through the Hong Kong Ethereum Community Hub @ethereumhkhub and @Ethtao_Ethtao.
We'll also be sharing openly with the community what we've built over the past decade.
Ethereum is for everyone. Its future will be built together.
A very interesting read, with a lot being said about @ethlabs_org and the role it can play in Ethereum’s next chapter
the #Ethereum Community should keep staying informed about the mission, the people behind it, and why this effort matters
the more we understand EthLabs, the stronger the support around it can become
Ethereum is clearly entering a new chapter
For the community, this is a reminder that progress does not come from one place alone. It comes from the EF, from independent teams, from key organizations like @ethlabs_org, and from everyone willing to support the work when it matters most
The #Ethereum community has already shown that it wants to be part of that shift
Being at an org during layoffs sucks. Some people I deeply respect, have worked with, and have seen do amazing work were laid off. It sucks, and I will personally try to help them however I can
At the same time, I'm excited about the new structure at the EF
Ethereum needs to be the only smart contract platform where anyone can access the internet of value without intermediaries. And those services should be so good that people choose them because they're better, not because they're ideological
Today we don't deliver on that promise. We need to. And I think the EF is now better positioned to help make that a reality
What stands out from @_julianma’s post is not only the introduction of @ethlabs_org, but why he chose to stay in Ethereum
After years at the EF, he sees the same thing the Ethereum Community is seeing: adoption is here, and Ethereum now needs stronger growth, better infrastructure, and more support for builders
That is where EthLabs comes in. Not as just another team, but as one of the groups helping turn this moment into real progress for #Ethereum and ETH
We just announced Ethlabs (@ethlabs_org). Its mission is stewarding the growth of Ethereum and ETH. Here is why I decided to stay in Ethereum after four years at the Foundation.
We are at the moment Ethereum was built for. Adoption is here. Blokchains are being adopted as the most efficient financial rails and the traction of the very innovative financial services built on Ethereum, is accelerating fast.
Ethereum is best positioned to become the base layer for worldwide finance. It is unrivaled in credible neutrality, permissionlessness, and robustness. The core protocol is now steadily increasing its throughput and speed to meet demand. Ethereum’s application layer has the largest developer base and most institutional adoption. The contest now is on product and growth: improve user and dev experience and bring Ethereum’s apps and assets to more people.
At Ethlabs, I will focus on growth by:
- Supporting Ethereum’s builders.
- Improving infra and standards for devs, builders, and institutions.
- Increasing distribution for Ethereum’s apps and assets.
Throughout setting up Ethlabs it is incredible to see how much support we have gotten. So many of us want Ethereum and ETH to succeed. Largely thanks to the ecosystem’s size, force, and culture, it is now positioned to be an enormous improvement to the global financial system. That’s why I’m staying in Ethereum and that’s the work I want to do. Interested in joining? Go to [email protected].
Today is truly an Ethereum moment, thanks to all our backers (@BitMNR, @Sharplink, @ethereumJoseph, and so many others) and the entire Ethereum ecosystem!
We’ve officially donated over 77 ETH to @ethlabs_org 💜
The Ethereum community remains the top contributor to the https://t.co/RxRVPLMOuO donation wallet, representing more than 80% of the donations received so far
This shows how determined the community is to support EthLabs, help push #Ethereum forward, and keep building toward a stronger ecosystem for the years ahead
What stands out from @casparschwa’s message is the belief that Ethereum’s future will be shaped by conviction, not convenience
The hardest path is often the most resilient one. That’s what makes this mission worth supporting
very excited to start @ethlabs_org!! some thoughts:
* ethereum the protocol is decentralized and now ethereum's ecosystem is accelerating its decentralization. it's like client diversity: more costly and coordination friction but ultimately the principled and resilient path. the multi-node future decentralizes both the tech and the culture.
* I strongly believe principles and pragmatism are not at odds with each other. the core properties of ethereum, ultimately its credible neutrality, is precisely what gives ethereum a shot at becoming the root of trust for the world. trust doesn't scale well but ethereum's credible neutrality does. this is unique and what I'm most excited about pushing for.
Seeing companies like @BitMNR step in to support @ethlabs_org shows that investing in Ethereum’s core research is becoming a priority
The strongest ecosystems are built when builders and capital move in the same direction
The team at Ethlabs @ethlabs_org is one the cores driving the future of @ethereum
Thus, Bitmine is delighted to be a key partner backing the efforts of this team
$ETH is money
Another achievement! 1,000 builders are following EthLabs community X account 💜
Every single one of you has played a part in getting us to where we are today. The support, the donations, and everything we've achieved for @ethlabs_org so far are only possible because of this community.
1,000 true supporters, amassed in just 2 days. That proves how fast the community is growing and how dedicated they are to making the changes #Ethereum needs
#Ethereum has never been built by a single company or organization. Its strength comes from a growing network of independent teams all working toward the same mission
By supporting @ethlabs_org, the community becomes part of that network. Every contribution helps strengthen the broader ecosystem to advance Ethereum, alongside the builders and researchers shaping its future
Just take a look at the people who are already part of this journey
Ethlabs is supported by a broad coalition across the Ethereum ecosystem:
DeFi builders, core devs, L2 founders, cypherpunks, investors, institutions, and researchers.
People who care deeply about Ethereum’s future, protecting its core properties, and bringing them to the world.
We are coming together to accelerate the next wave of Ethereum adoption by contributing to critical core R&D and building new infrastructure and products where the ecosystem needs them most.
We are incredibly grateful to be supported by @BitMNR, @Sharplink, @ethereumJoseph, @snzholding, and more than 50 others across Ethereum.
Here we go. A major step was reached by the Ethereum community today
over $100,000 donated to @ethlabs_org
We're also more than grateful for the recognition @ethereumJoseph gave to the community. It may look like a small gesture, but for everyone supporting this journey, it means a lot
Huge thanks to everyone building with us. What an amazing milestone, can’t wait to see what we'll achieve together next for #Ethereum!
