@hannahjfarrar @cf@NHSEngland What about an assessment as to the suitability and the quality of the home environment these people are going to be living in?
The relationship between the home and the occupants of the home is now well proven and has to be part of any assessment.
@MerronSimpson@TheHCAlliance But let’s not forget it’s not just about those with an illness that makes them unable to work. It’s also about those who care for them that impacts their ability to work, in full or in part. Especially those who care for children and young people. Huge economic opportunity!
Our systems need to change, which means we have to prioritise innovation. Innovation will only happen if we create the conditions for it. @Digitaltonto sets out nine "rules" of innovation:
1) Innovation is a drawn out process, not a single event
2) Innovation is combination
3) First, ask the right questions
4) There's no optimal size for innovation
5) Seek partners beyond your own capabilities (open innovation)
6) Disruptive innovation needs new business models
7) Follow the 70:20:10 model
8) Use platforms to widen and deepen connections
9) Collaboration is the best way to compete

"If ministers are genuinely interested in performance improvement, their starting point should not be to sit in a Whitehall policy brainstorm but to get out onto the frontline of #LocalGov"
Oflog will fail to improve performance, writes @adamjlent 👇 https://t.co/4CGyxyYBWa
with recognition that the NHS, those ‘doctors and nurses’ impact only 20% of health outcomes there is a growing understanding that we need to focus on the other 80% impacted by those wider determinants and how we prevent ill health!
We can break this trap by bringing together like minded people, who are prepared to take a ‘leap of faith’, share the risks and get on a explore HOW to make these changes…
That is what we’re doing in our project https://t.co/QqXH2AzLgO
Community power produces far-ranging benefits.
But an ‘evidence paradox’, hard-wired into our policy-making system, is holding back its potential.

Lots to agree with in this blog on Healthy Homes. I know the team behind this work in Halton 👇. This issue matters for many parts of the country - let's follow and support their progress. https://t.co/tgvoDNyeYi
Exactly the change in approach we are exploring with @HaltonHousing, how do we prevent the condition quality of their homes impacting on the health of their tenants…

Intervening upstream to prevent illness is the foundation. Ensuring good food quality and access, good air quality , healthy work and more are all vital for good health.
