At the @ethzgb meetup yesterday, we asked ourselves why “useful” crypto agents are so rare.

The ones that work today are basically custodial apps with a bot UI.

Missing rails: identity (who/what is this agent over time), revocation (pause/limit when compromised), accountability (who eats the loss).

Without those, the equilibrium is keyholding.

ENS / KYC / ERC-8004 are three angles on one bottleneck: identity for code.

Ethereum Zagreb - full house again 🔥 💎

The Ethereum meetups we kicked off at the beginning of this year hold a special place in my heart (shoutout to Ivan Glavaš,@tomoglava , @Beler)

Ten years later, we’re once again feeling the same “good vibes” our local community had back in 2016/17.

That was when we were just discovering what blockchain technology could even do - and every path felt wide open.

We talked about consensus, scaling, mining, smart contracts, security issues, and everything in between.

Today we’re all a bit more serious. The conversations are mostly about revenue, go-to-market strategy, regulation, payments infrastructure, macro factors, neobanks, fintech and similar topics.

But becoming more serious doesn’t mean we should forget where we started.

That’s exactly why @ethzgb exists - an attempt to bring the original mission of blockchain back into the local zeitgeist: decentralized money and assets, free from external influence, secured by pure mathematics.
