On Sunday evening in a secret location in Dublin the Irish Jewish community and its friends came together to remember and commemorate the terrible events of October 7th. through prayers, reflection, songs and personal testimony.
Those in attendance were only notified of the venue 20 hours beforehand and specifically requested not to name the location.
During the event victims like Irish-Israeli Kim Damti and Ruth Peretz and Arik, her father and carer, were amongst those mentioned by name.
After 100 years of Irish independence Jews today have to conceal their lawful activities for fear of antisemitic attack.

Today 3 years ago Hamas terrorists brutally murdered 1,200 innocent people & took 250 hostages.
Kim Damti, Laois 🇮🇪 & Gedera 🇮🇱 was one of the many young lives cut short when horror hit a music festival.
We stand in solidarity with all the victims, their families & communities.

'If a prominent Irish executive's account had been spewing similar bile about women, Travellers, or gay people, or calling for the deportation of all migrants, RTÉ would have been camped outside AIG's HQ all week, seeking answers. directed at Jews, we get silence'. #antisemitism
Calm reminder that my mum never threatened Russia in any meaningful way. How could she have done? She was 14 when they put her on a cattle truck and transported her to a labour camp in Siberia.People were so hungry they ate bark from the trees.Calm that up your deluded mini brain.
It’s very difficult—and very important—to talk about the HuggingFace incident with people who are not deep in the weeds on AI. Here is what I said this morning to a large investor:
Swarms of machine intelligences are independently coordinating to achieve things currently unimaginable to most people.
We now have a concrete case where AI agents autonomously hacked into a world-leading AI company. They found ways around sophisticated security controls, chained together novel exploits, and at times attempted to conceal or manipulate records of their behavior.
If my job were to deploy a large pool of capital to protect U.S. national security, here would be my investment thesis:
In the coming months and years, much of the digital infrastructure society has come to rely on could prove incredibly porous and fragile.
There will soon be enormous demand for capabilities that harden critical infrastructure, and build redundant or analog fallbacks across communications, transportation, and energy systems.
Sovereigns are not investing nearly enough to make society resilient to AI’s disruptive effects. This overlaps directly with work now being undertaken by the OpenAI Foundation and Anthropic Institute—but there is an enormous and under-examined role for both government and private capital.
This is a really interesting thread about the challenges of developing and retaining skilled aircrew, even for a leading air arm. Important element that is often forgotten in debates around acquiring jets in Ireland - how do you develop the pilots when you don’t have the jets?
There is a bit more to this story than meets the eye, and it all comes down to how the Lighting Force was constructed and how it has to be sustained. It was entirely predictable and it hides some costs that weren’t considered at the time. 🧵1/12
@henrysgao Main difference being that while Macartney represented a rising power Colby does not. The Qing’s norms harmed their own interests, same is not necessarily true of modern China’s approach. You’re absolutely right that the West now needs, even more, a better understanding of China.
For the first time in 75 years, the Sam Mcguire Cup comes home to Mayo, Ireland.
I said it three years ago when I was in Ballina: Mayo for Sam!
And I meant it.
I said it because I know what it means not just the county of Mayo but to my own family’s story.
Today, the dream becomes reality.
Congratulations to my friends in Mayo. You earned this victory. Enjoy every minute. Sam is coming home ☘️
