Professor of Religion and Public Life, University of Leeds. Religion, gender, international development, humanitarianism, peace building, global health.
@FirstBusUK @FirstWestYorks Hi, I was at Leeds University stop B around 3:45pm on Tue 4 Nov. The bus showed on the app so I activated my ticket, but it never came and went straight to Hyde Park instead. Could I get a refund please? Also, the display at this stop isn’t working.
I am now delighted to report to you that the Centre for Global Health Histories I built between 2010 & 2022 has transferred over to the @UniversityLeeds. The website is now live, thanks to help from our exceptionally helpful colleague, Dr. Joanna Phillips: https://t.co/wrtYz1HMA6
As many of you know, I moved to work in the @UniversityLeeds in Sept. 2022. All my partnerships with the @WHO & national governments did so too (& this collaborative work was greatly enriched by the involvement of talent across @LeedsUniAHC & as well as across @UniversityLeeds.
As Head of @LeedsUniHistory, I am focussed on many administrative duties & some research cum engagement work with @WHO and @UN partners. The day-to-day direction of CGHH will lie elsewhere, in the capable hands of Professor Emma Tomalin, Professor Shane Doyle and Dr. Kat Rawling.
I will remain involved as an advisory board member, along with many wonderful colleagues, which includes our Executive Dean, Professor @AndrewThorpe4; several fellow Heads (Professor @JoanneCrawford & Professor @jpitches68) & Dr. Papiya Mazumdar (POLIS/Social Sciences).
Several other academic colleagues within History and other AHC Schools have joined – I am sure many more people from across this great University will join us, as will a range of external academic and policy partners.

So emotionally charged and yet so imprecise. My latest piece for @rapplerdotcom reflects on blasphemy, the latest national controversy. #Opinion
