It was an honor and pleasure to receive my friend and brother, His Excellency Governor Dikko Umaru Radda CON, the Executive Governor of Katsina State, in my Abuja home yesterday evening.
He is not only one of the most brilliant, progressive, passionate and dynamic Governors that we have in the country but he is also a man that is imbued with a remarkable degree of wisdom, humility and integrity.
He is a strong believer in the unity and greatness of Nigeria and I am very proud of his remarkable achievements in Katsina state.
We had a fruitful and productive discussion about national and international affairs and I look forward to interacting with him all the more.
With leaders like him the future of Nigeria is assured and we shall, as a nation, go from strength to strength.
Thanks for honoring us with your prescence Your Excellency and may God continue to lead, guide and be with you and the great people of Katsina State.

@dikko_radda
I am delighted at the fact that a number of our compatriots in South Africa have been returned home safely and that the exercise is still ongoing.
I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT) for his timely intervention and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu (@Ojukwu_Bianca) together with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye
and all the other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (@NigeriaMFA) for their efforts.
I must also mention the great work that our Charges D'Affaires in South Africa, Mr. Temitope Ajayi, and our Consul-General, Mrs. Ninikanwa Okey-Uche are doing down there to help our people and I thank them for keeping me fully briefed and abreast of events.
Most importantly I commend the resilience and courage of the Nigerian community in Nigeria who have clearly been through so much and many of whom have lost virtually everything they had and built up over the years.
I welcome those that have come home or that will be coming home soon and I assure them that we will help them in any and every way that we can to settle down and re-establish their lives.
I believe strongly that all diplomatic means should and will be used to resolve this complex issue and I assure the Nigerian community in South Africa that the Federal Government of Nigeria will never abandon or forsake them.
As Nigeria's Ambassador-Designate to South Africa I look forward to assisting our people that are in that country and ensuring that they are not only fully protected from all manners of persecution and threats but also treated with dignity, decorum and decency.
I also look forward to rebuilding stronger ties and bridges of love and understanding between the Government and people of South Africa and ours. We must all work together to resolve these issues.
This is especially so given the fact that that we have a shared and cherished history of collaboration and mutual support in which we worked closely together.
This is the crucial and critical partnership that we need in order to move both our countries and indeed Africa forward together.
May God guide us all and may He defend and protect all our compatriots and nationals that reside in South Africa and other parts of the world.
God bless Nigeria and Happy Democracy Day! 🇳🇬

Our Candidate For 2027 is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In view of recent political events, it has become necessary and expedient for us, Ambassadors Designate Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Mr. Bemigho Reno Omokri, to state categorically that we believe it is in the best interest of the stability, unity, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and in keeping with the Gentleman's Agreement, which ushered in our Fourth Republic in 1999, after sixteen years of turbulence and political instability, for there to be a balanced and orderly rotation of power in Nigeria, between the North and the South.
We further affirm that, having completed and made full and unfettered use of two terms of four years, under the Muhammadu Buhari administration, Northern Nigeria, with the support of patriots from Southern Nigeria, had its full, uninterrupted, and undisturbed tenure in this power rotation arrangement.
And that, after that tenure, it is the turn of Southern Nigeria to take and retain the baton of power for a commensurate period of time, to wit, two terms of four years each.
As such, we view it as unpatriotic and inimical to the unity, equilibrium, and progress of Nigeria for anyone to even conceive of power returning to Northern Nigeria after only one term of four years, during which it was domiciled in Southern Nigeria. And not just in Southern Nigeria, but in the specific hands of the man who was the chief architect for the return of power to the North in 2015.
We are of the opinion that one good turn deserves another and that one good term deserves another.
Therefore, we make bold to state that our candidate and choice for the 2027 Presidential Elections is His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has, in the last three years, delivered 12 cycles of GDP growth and trade surpluses, while adding $67 billion to our economy and making Nigeria the sixth largest contributor to global GDP growth in 2025.
We urge the political class, to note that the reason Switzerland has been stable, peaceful, and prosperous for the last 211 years is because that Alpine nation wisely introduced power sharing amongst its multiethnic population and has not seen any conflict since 1815, and particularly since 1848 when its power-sharing policy took root.
Finally, we call on all Nigerians, irrespective of region, religion, and communion, to join us and queue behind the present Presidency and future candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which has seen infrastructural efforts to unite Nigeria, including the ₦15 trillion 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the ₦13 trillion 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, and bridging the gap between the Southeast and the entire North through the 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a cost of an estimated $750 million.
If we all extend the right hand of fellowship to President Bola Tinubu, we will, with the help of God, collectively see Nigeria become a $1 trillion economy by 2031.
To re-elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a task that must be done!
May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and may Nigeria prosper under President Bola Tinubu.

PRESS RELEASE:
*MURIC DEBUNKS FFK'S REJECTION BY GERMANY, THANKS TINUBU FOR REDEPLOYING HIM TO SOUTH AFRICA*
A civil liberties organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has debunked the narrative that Germany rejected Chief Femi Fani-Kayode as an ambassador.
In a press statement issued by the Executive Director of the organization, Professor Ishaq Akintola on Friday, 8th May, 2026, the group insisted that it was Chief Fani-Kayode who requested for reassignment. MURIC also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for graciously hearkening to the request made by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode @realFFK
The full statement reads:
"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed some Nigerians as ambassadors to various countries in Europe, America, Canada, etc about two months ago after Senate confirmation in December 2025.
"However, latest report reaching us indicates that one of the newly appointed ambassadors and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who was assigned to Germany ab initio, has been redeployed to South Africa (https://t.co/CkSdClmRGz).
"Notwithstanding the glaring facts, a media house published a fabricated version of the story by claiming that Fani-Kayode was being redeployed to South Africa because he was rejected by Germany.
"Nothing could be more misleading. We frown upon this disparaging information which has been traced to an online magazine (https://t.co/ilTVte2u2u).
*"On the contrary, it was Chief Fani-Kayode himself who requested for reassignment. (https://t.co/Jf3ABYZAgX).*
"We believe that this wrong impression should be corrected as it is capable of bringing a brilliant lawyer, a great patriot and quintessential politician to public opprobrium. We affirm clearly, unequivocally and categorically that Germany never rejected Chief Fani-Kayode.
"As a great pan-Africanist, Chief Fani-Kayode personally chose South Africa. It was his fervent desire to serve in a country that shares some of his convictions, beliefs and values on world affairs.
*"MURIC in particular has keen interest in Chief Femi Fani-Kayode because he comes across as one of the few liberal Christians in Nigeria. We see in him one of the few potential Christian presidents of Nigeria whom Nigerian Muslims will gladly accept because of his truthfulness, objectivity and acceptance of religious pluralism.*
"Whereas other Christians assume that the system should be totally dominated by Christian culture, Christian values and Christian norms, Fani-Kayode has demonstrated his readiness for sharing with, caring for and loving his Muslim compatriots in a multi-religious Nigeria.
*"MURIC thanks President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for graciously hearkening to the request made by Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for redeployment to South Africa."*

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode: A Perfect Choice for Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Africa
The relationship between Nigeria and South Africa is one of the most important partnerships in Africa. Both nations play major roles in politics, trade and regional development across the continent.
However, challenges such as xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa have recently created tensions between the two countries. At this important moment, Nigeria needs a strong, experienced and outspoken representative to protect its interests and strengthen diplomatic ties. Chief Femi Fani-Kayode is widely seen as someone capable of handling such responsibilities effectively.
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has significant political and governmental experience that qualifies him for diplomatic service. Having served as a former Minister of Culture and Tourism, Minister for Aviation and presidential aide, he understands the workings of government and international relations.
Over the years, he has developed a reputation as a bold public speaker who can confidently defend Nigeria’s position on national and international matters. His knowledge of politics and diplomacy would be valuable in promoting better understanding between Nigeria and South Africa.
One of the major concerns for Nigerians in South Africa has been the issue of xenophobia and discrimination. Many Nigerians living and working there expect stronger protection and representation from Nigerian government.
Chief Fani-Kayode is known for speaking firmly against injustice and defending the dignity of Nigerians both at home and abroad. His courage and strong personality could help reassure Nigerians in South Africa that their welfare and safety remain a priority for the Nigerian government.
In addition to protecting Nigerians abroad, Chief Fani-Kayode’s communication skills could help improve relations between both countries.
Diplomacy requires the ability to engage people, build trust and encourage cooperation. As an experienced political commentator and public speaker, he has the ability to communicate effectively with both government officials and the public. His understanding of African politics and Pan-African unity could also help Nigeria and South Africa work together more closely on trade, peace and regional development.
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode possesses many qualities that make him a strong candidate for Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Africa. His experience, courage, communication ability and passion for national interest could help strengthen diplomatic relations while protecting Nigerians living abroad. At a time when Nigeria seeks stronger ties with South Africa, his appointment will provide bold and effective representation for the country.

William Shakespeare's 'Julius Caeser' is one of the best plays ever written by history's greatest playwright & it is amongst my favourites.
It speaks of mob psychology, ambition, power, treachery & the most brutal & painful expression of betrayal by a loved one.
Caeser loved Brutus his protegee above all else but at the end of the day it was Brutus, after others had stabbed him all over the body with their knives, that struck the fatal blow deep into his ageing chest & killed him.
The shock of the betrayal by a loved one & his famous last words, "et tu Brute", as he slowly bled & died, (which when translated from Latin to English means "and you too Brutus?") conveyed his anguish & pain. It was not just Brutus' blade that finally took his life but also a broken heart.
That is how the Nigerian people feel today as they witness the torment & sheer wickedness that their compatriots are being subjected to in South Africa, a nation that most of us love so deeply & dearly & that we sacrificed so much for historically.
The purpose of this contribution is to critically examine what has been going on there &, for the record, these are my personal views & assesment & I do not share them in a representative capacity. Permit me to begin.
According to the Nigerian Consulate in Johannesburg at least two Nigerians have been killed as a consequence of the xenophobic tensions & attacks. Their names are Amaramiro Emmanuel & Ekpeyong Andrew.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that, Ninikanwa Okey-Uche, the Consul-General of the Nigerian Embassy in South Africa, said that Emmanuel died from injuries allegedly sustained after being beaten by personnel of the South African National Defence Force on April 20. This raises even more concerns than the ones previously held.
It appears that it is not just the South African citizenry that are targetting our people but also elements in the South African Police. Surely Nigerian lives matter as well.
The killings, beatings, persecution, humiliation, violence & discrimination that Nigerians, & other African nationals, are being subjected to in South Africa is unacceptable & stands condemned.
Nigerian children are being turned back from schools, Nigerian patients are being thrown out of hospitals, Nigerian shoppers are being bundled out of shops, Nigerians stores are being ransacked & forcefully shut, Nigerian workers are being sacked & cast out of their offices & work places, Nigerian homes are being raided, ransacked & burnt, Nigerian diners are being thrown out of restaurants & Nigerian men, women & children are being beaten, insulted, mocked & humiliated in the streets for no just cause & even when & where their immigration papers are complete.
South Africans are marching through the streets of their major cities, half naked in tribal wear, singing war songs, brandishing spears & other crude weapons & hunting black African immigrants, including Nigerians, as if they were animals.
There is also footage of mobs of angry South African women beating up African immigrant women in the streets even whilst the latter were holding up bibles.
Worse of all are the cases of wild & hostile crowds of South African males chasing & stripping African immigrant women, including Nigerians, naked in the streets, beating them to a pulp & sexually violating them in the full glare of a sea of angry, wild & depraved young men who recorded the disgusting spectacle with their telephones.
A number of years ago the great South African reggae singer Lucky Dube was killed by a mob of South Africans simply because they believed he was Nigerian.
That is how deep the hatred for their fellow Africans has eaten into the psyche & afflicted the minds of some of our South African brothers & sisters.
This is bedlam. It is evil. It is wicked. It is cruel. And it is like a scene from Dante's 7th circle of hell.

For those that met in Ibadan today to threaten others with "Operation Wetie" is a very dangerous gambit. Their brazen threat has been duly noted but they should consider the consequences of their words and proposed course of action before it is too late. The last time Operation Wetie happened there were no winners or losers. After the turmoil, mass murder, arson, chaos and gratutious violence that was witnessed in the SW two very bloody military coups took place in the country in which hundreds of civilians and military personnel were collectively killed. This was followed by a series of horrific pogroms in the North in which thousands were killled and finally came the civil war in which millions, including children, were killed. Do those that attended the 'Opposition Summit' in Ibadan today really want all that to happen again? Is that why they chose that occassion and that city (which is where Operation Wetie started in 1965) to issue their threat? If so they should retrace their steps because nothing beats peace. Outside of that no-one is intimidated or losing any sleep over their threat and, no matter what they do or say, only the will of the people shall stand in the 2027 elections.

I was happy to see Gov Uba Sani @ubasanius celebrating the late Gani Fawenhimi yesterday. If President Tinubu @officialABAT insists on changing his VP for 2027 there is only one man that can do the job and ensure he wins. That man is Gov Uba Sani. Both the Christians and Muslims of the North love him and because of the support he gave MKO Abiola and NADECO the people of the SW love him too. We call him Comrade in the South and we remember when he was detained by Abacha because of the support and sacrifices he gave for democracy. One day he will be our President. He is the best of the North and we love him in the South.
A Word on Femi Fani-Kayode @realFFK
Someone on my X timeline recently accused me of being the same as Femi Fani-Kayode because we both speak of our fathers. I will address this directly.
Femi's father and my father were contemporaries at Cambridge. Femi and I attended Holmewood House prep school together — the same school that produced President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana. Femi went on to Harrow and Cambridge. He is educated, historically grounded, and fiercely proud of a father who played a genuine role in Nigeria's First Republic. I see no shame in that. Nigeria has a chronic and self-destructive habit of erasing its own history, of burying the men and women who built the foundations of the republic.
I have not seen Femi in years. The last time was when we bumped into each other at Aso Rock when he was a minister. But I know the Femi who, in my time of need, took me to his church in Apapa and showed me nothing but kindness. I do not know and have never witnessed the Femi that the tabloids and the Twitter mobs love to destroy daily. Having now been on the receiving end of online abuse — insults and coordinated hostility for doing nothing more than speaking my mind about my country — I understand why he gets angry. We are all human. Words land, no matter how thick you try to make your skin.
To those trying to engineer a public fight between us: it will not happen. We are Old Homewoodians. That bond predates Nigerian politics and will outlast it.
Kio Amachree @Ivory1957
Hello Kio my name is Terry Waya and i have been following with interest your picks and thoughts on Mr Gilbert Chagoury someone i first met in 1985 and has since maintained a very close friendship with sharing joys and pains throughout this over 40 Years journey, from your writings i can see one thing in common between the two of you and probably three of you including president Bola Tinubu, your love for Nigeria,i can see you're genuinely very passionate about Nigeria and the way you present your thoughts makes me genuinely dismiss the claims of a paid hatchet man,the Gilbert Chagoury i know is also very passionate about Nigeria and like you believes Nigeria and Nigerians can be better,he has his flaws so do all of us and sometimes it's the attempt to do good that puts us in certain situations,Mr Chagoury's conviction in Switzerland was more of a plea bargain based on honesty rather than criminality because he openly admitted Gen Abacha gave him money to hold for Nigeria a very rare display of honesty when others denied and he returned the money,i equally had problems in the UK trying to help a former governor even though i didn't do anything wrong, for the Coastal road and other projects that you accuse him,my brother i have to tell you something it is the love Gilbert has for Nigeria especially the South South region that he went and found and dusted this project that previous governments had tried and failed to do and pleaded with his friend to execute it so as to give that part of the country a sense of belonging and you can see despite the difficulties he's executing it accordingly and i trust very much he will deliver it,if this project is not done now the money can disappear and nothing will happen,i remember during the time of Obasanjo they wanted to do the second runway in Abuja Airport and the cost was estimated at 60bn naira and there was budget for it and the contract was awarded to Julius Berger but the National Assembly made so much noise about it and cancelled it,today there's no second runway at Abuja AirPort and there's no 60bn and if you want to do it now it'll cost you over 500bn so the most important thing is for us to wait and see whether Mr Chagoury will deliver on president Tinubu's legacy projects or not but so far i think they will,Mr Chagoury that i know is the only Foreign Nigerian that brings money into Nigeria instead of taking it out as you can see from Eco Atlantic which was devastating Lagos and nearly wiped out Victoria Island and even Nigerian government couldn't proffer a solution till he came out with this novel idea of developing it into a city at an enormous cost and this single initiative saved Lagos again just take a look at Banana island which is the most livable place in Lagos today which i happened to be part of it was Mr Chagoury that singlehandedly developed it when every company rejected it at that time so while Mr Chagoury can have his own flaws like any of us he offers a lot of positives especially in Nigeria and yes i can understand his friendship to Nigerian president is an envy to so many of us after all who wouldn't want to be in that position but in the end it's nothing destructive and when you get to know Mr Chagoury personally you'll not only see how harmless he's but how much he loves Nigerians and Nigeria a country he genuinely believes in,I'm not asking you to stop criticizing when you see things going wrong but try not to personalise ,as for the GCON i was one of the people who advocated for him to be so honored because i realised people who had not contributed half of what he has done for Nigeria had the same honour and honestly when i raised the issue with him he didn't even want it so it's not like it's a big deal to him and as for the court threats of suing you be rest assured and I'll categorically tell you Mr Chagoury has better things to do with his time than suing people and you'll not be the first,in conclusion when next you're in Nigeria kindly,
His long time ally, now political opponent B.D. Lawal says President Bola Ahmed Tinubu himself needs to be rescued! A clip from @InsideSources01 on @channelstv last Sunday
