Last week we were quoted in the Edmonton Journal article on the upcoming fare increases, highlighting:
-The impacts of fare increases
-The need for price predictability
-Edmonton maintaining fares lower than other large Canadian cities

@TransitYEG The funding started with Edmonton and Calgary in 2017, but the funding and municipalities involved have both expanded multiple times, most recently in 2023
Everything you need to know about Alberta's Low Income Transit Passes, and how you can help make sure funding is maintained in the upcoming budget.

@big_fan2019 The deal is going to allow all service providers access to the LRT tunnels! So everyone will have the ability to access our quality content
It looks like it could be finally happening!
On Wednesday Exec Committee will look to accept a deal with Telus to fill cell service gaps in our LRT tunnels
We encourage council to approve this deal, and massively increase rider quality of life
#yegcc#yegtransit#yeglrt
This is a great opportunity to continue the modernization of our LRT system, and the best part is: it doesn't require any extra funding!
We are hopeful that next year you will be able to look at our amazing posts while zooming through our LRT tunnels
This has been a longstanding complaint we've heard about from riders, and has major implications for safety, perceptions of safety, and comfort on our system
If you want to read more about the proposal with Telus you can read about it here: https://t.co/awdTTi4RzU
We recently met with Opposition MLAs and the Ministry of Seniors, Community and Social Services about funding low-income transit in this year's budget
Help maintain funding for low-income transit passes in Alberta by visiting: https://t.co/nJbdkXDCNc
#yegcc#ableg#yegtransit
We also sat down with @LorneDach, @SharifHaji, and @ndpkyle from the Official Opposition to talk low-income transit, and discuss what support for public transit looks like between municipal boundaries.
Us and Calgary Transit Riders recently met with the Ministry of Seniors, Community, and Social Services to convey the importance of maintaining funding for these passes, and what low-income transit looks like for a future provincially run public transit system
If you want to share your voice in favour of protecting low income transit passes in Alberta, or if you want to learn more about our advocacy on the subject, go to:

The Edmonton Journal just ran our op-ed on Alberta's low income transit passes, and why the provincial government should help low income Albertans participate in our economy and community
