@CuteCatcel oh it’s more of a conceptional inquiry. from what ive read this question actually comes up a lot in debates amongst confucian scholars of today. since performing certain rituals is such a fundamental principal in order to reach “virtue” as by confucius-

they’ve placed such an emphasis on these rites and odes which are evidently not as prevalent as they once were. how do you “get back in”? if it’s such a fundamental aspect needed to orient yourself, are their contemporaries counterparts doomed to not reach that state

my question about this is, within the context of confucianism, how is one supposed to achieve this virtue (self-righteousness, etc etc) when the rituals that guide one to such a state have been lost to time ? you’re operating outside the bounds so how do you get back in
