On 31 May, 144 🇪🇺 Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) observers visited hundreds of polling stations across Colombia 🇨🇴. The presidential elections in 🇨🇴 are approaching. On Sunday 31 May, the 🇪🇺 Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) will be in the country to show the EU’s permanent commitment to support democracy and the rule of law. More than 140 observers will promote inclusive and transparent elections in Colombia: this is #EUForeignPolicy in action!

Esta mañana, otros 42 observadores de la MOE UE se desplegaron en todo Colombia, sumándose a los 40 observadores de largo plazo presentes sobre el terreno desde principios de mayo y al equipo central de analistas en Bogotá.

Hoy también llegan a Bogotá 12 diputados del Parlamento Europeo y el jefe de la misión, el vicepresidente del Parlamento Europeo, Esteban González Pons. Además, diplomáticos europeos acreditados en Colombia se unirán a la misión en la víspera de las elecciones presidenciales.

El 31 de mayo, la MOE UE desplegará a más de 140 observadores procedentes de los Estados miembros de la Unión Europea, así como de Noruega, Suiza y Canadá.

Guatemala has recently renewed some critical institutions such as the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the Constitutional Court, the Attorney General & the Comptroller General. We are proud to stand by Ukraine in its fight for its stolen children. We work to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian authorities to locate, protect & secure the return of children at risk or unlawfully deported from temporarily occupied territories or forcibly transferred to the Russian Federation. We support the reintegration of those who returned, to ensure accountability and justice for them and to uphold initiatives like @BringKidsBackUA which are essential to keep momentum for this essential cause.

Of all the horrors inflicted by Russia’s war, the abduction of Ukrainian children is one of its worst.

Stealing children is a calculated Russian attack on Ukraine’s future.

Bringing them home is a priority.
We support this with funding, aid and sanctions.
