On 19 June, EUFOREA will bring together global leaders in respiratory medicine, patient advocacy, and health policy for The Respiratory SUMMIT 2026.

Under the theme "Redefining CRDs as Preventable Diseases", this high-level, invitation-only meeting will challenge traditional approaches to chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) and explore how prevention can become the cornerstone of patient care, from primary prevention through to quaternary prevention.

This past Sunday marked World No Tobacco Day, and today, EUFOREA proudly supports the #NoToNicotine call to action at the European Parliament.

Hosted by MEPs Aurelijus Veryga, Romana Jerković, and Tilly Metz, the symposium highlighted a clear message: smoking remains the leading preventable risk factor for chronic disease, while vaping and e-cigarettes risk creating a new generation of nicotine dependence.

The burden of proof must lie with those bringing new nicotine products to market. Public health should not have to prove harm after the fact.

It's time to prevent a new generation of addiction and disease.
