Please join us so we can build tenant power and defend our neighborhoods together! Bring a chair or something to sit on, layers to stay warm for autumn weather, something to contribute to the potluck if you are able, and a friend, coworker or neighbor!
We will hold our next Mass Meeting on Monday, October 3rd from 6-7:30 at Monroe Park. This will be our last outdoor mass meeting this year as we secure an accessible indoor space for the cold and dark winter months.
At our September Mass Meeting, we were lucky to have over 40 attendees who joined in struggle, conversation and collaboration. At least 30% of our comrades at the meeting are experiencing high rents, 20% are dealing with maintenance issues and 16% living with mold issues.
All solidarity to comrades of @rhlireland who inspire us to remain militant and revolutionary in defending the dignity of the masses in our neighborhoods.
Anti-eviction rally at Ionad Seán Heuston right now! Gardaí and private security are watching close.
Come down and show your support! #defendionadseánheuston
*HOW TO START A TENANTS UNION*
Sunday, Aug 28 w/ members of @LATenantsUnion
Sunday, Sep 25 w/ members of @CHTenantUnion
4-5:30pm Pacific / 7-8:30pm Eastern
Join us to learn how we built our tenant unions and how you can build one in your neighborhood or city.
It is our duty to make sure those thousands of tenants know they are not isolated. The tools the state gives the rich to exploit us become the common language of how working people define their enemies and start fighting against them towards a future free from class exploitation.
Eugene Housing and Neighborhood Defense remains more optimistic than ever about tenant organizing. We know these conditions are as historically insufferable as they feel and we trust in the masses to find each other in these shared struggles as the masses always do.
Because in the next few weeks, it will not be one tenant, it will not be hundreds of tenants, but it will be thousands of tenants in Eugene who open a dehumanizing, mass produced letter saying their rent is increasing in 2023 by hundreds of dollars they don't have.
On Monday, August 8th, Starbucks workers on 29th & Willamette in Eugene decided they had had enough with union busting, boss retaliation, low wages, and other grievances and went on strike.
Howard Schultz relies on the superexploitation of workers in oppressed nations, as well as the exploitation of US workers, to make his profits. We must engage in class struggle, not only to improve our own conditions, but in order to fight US imperialism worldwide.
We hope we can continue to sharpen our political tools alongside you at future events, and hope you will pick up the fight of mass work year round!

Kai C. from 29th & Willamette was fired for unfounded write-ups she wasn't made aware of, and was led believe she was in the clear to transfer out-of-state. Read the story, share, and donate if you can: https://t.co/rlBi9OSQq2
W11th and Acorn walked out after their boss illegally threatened to fire them if they joined the two other Eugene stores on strike! https://t.co/bG23bXYtXd
