Tanzanian-born Eugen Bacon’s (@EugenBacon) “Danged Black Thing” is part of Masobe Books’ (@masobebooks) five-book acquisition of works by the Afro-irrealist author.
The collection of short stories about love and migration, gender, class, patriarchy and womanhood is scheduled for release on 21 August 2026, together with the paperback version of “The Road to Woop Woop and Other Stories,” another collection of African Australian short stories.
“Serengotti,” a literary novel haunted by the strangeness and yearnings of a displaced community, is set for release in November 2026. The rest of Eugen’s acquired books are scheduled for 2027.
In recent news, Eugen Bacon was one of two African authors in the diaspora to win British Science Fiction Association (BSFA) Awards.
