Over 30 children were rushed to Edo specialist hospital in Benin city today after they were tear-gassed by men of the Edo state police force at ogbe stadium Benin city during children's day celebration.
One child is currently at the ICU.

The same Nigerian police force who cannot rescue our children from bandits is throwing tear gas at the ones celebrating.

I just finished an interview with Brad from Across Nigeria… and honestly, I’m sitting here stunned.

Today, he buried 14 Christians in a mass grave.
Two were infants.
One was a 4-year-old child.
And this isn’t some recycled internet story or political talking point. Brad was literally there today helping bury them. While on the way to investigate one attack, another Christian community was attacked. He said the violence is happening so fast they can barely keep up anymore.
What shocked me even more is this:
Brad shared that 72% of all Christians killed worldwide last year were killed in this region of Nigeria.
72%.
And hardly anybody is talking about it.
The mainstream media should be all over this. Instead, most people scrolling social media today have no idea our brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered while churches are being forced underground.
Guys… this matters.

1. Late payment of salaries and unpaid salaries.

2. Employers deliberately not observing the closing hours for staff. Your official closing time might be 6 PM, yet your boss keeps you in the office until 7 PM. These extra hours are usually unpaid. Some employers also expect employees to be available 24/7, even on non-working hours and days.

3. A superior making sexual advances toward staff. Even if the staff agrees, such arrangements are coercive because the person may accept out of fear of the consequences of rejection.

4. Overworking staff outside their official duties. Someone’s employment letter may clearly define their role, yet they are forced to do the work of three or five people. Bosses who send staff on personal errands also abuse their position. Staff are not your personal assistants.

5. A work environment where superiors speak to employees disrespectfully. A small mistake that could be corrected gently suddenly turns into humiliation and threats.

6. Gossip, competition, and quarrels among coworkers can turn the office into a toxic environment. Going to work feels like heading into hell.

7. Favoritism in promotions and assignments. This happens when bosses reward certain employees based on personal bias rather than merit. It demoralizes hardworking staff and creates resentment, as promotions and opportunities are no longer tied to performance.

8. Overloading employees with impossible targets. Putting undue pressure on them to meet goals, especially when these targets are tied to their salaries.

9. Superiors refusing to admit when they are wrong. They often blame subordinates for failures instead of taking responsibility themselves.

10. Managers taking credit for subordinates’ work. I once had a superior who always took credit for my ideas and achievements during management meetings. He never mentioned my name or gave me recognition. For example, I handled a Social Corporate Responsibility assignment very effectively, and he took all the credit. Taking all the credit affects promotion chances for junior staff. If management does not know who is producing results, they cannot reward performance properly.

On the 16th of December 25, I discovered a deadly evil being perpetuated by citizens against fellow citizens. In the course of this story, I'll make use of fictional names but real locations where they occured.

On that Tuesday morning, Olamide, a 25 year old boy came back to his apartment in Rumuigbo with his Toks Lexus RX 350, which he bought the previous week, and was celebrating with everyone. He had picked up the car from Apapa, Lagos, where he went with a mechanic whom he met on FB marketplace and drove down to see his people in Delta before proceeding to PH on that day. The car had been in his possession for over 7 days before he came to PH.

Let me give you a backstory on Olamide. He is an only son with 6 sisters and he is the 4th child. His father is in Quatar, working as a boat operator and his mother is a teacher in one of the government secondary schools in Delta state. Olamide is a waiter in one prominent place in Onne, hence the urge to get a car. His dad sent him the money for the car since the boy wasn't patient enough for one to be shipped to him.

While we were celebrating, we heard gunshots outside the gate and almost immediately the gate flew wide open. Operatives of EFCC and NPF filled the compound and everyone was in panic mode. I sharply went inside and called the NAF base and Army barracks, sent my location and went outside. I was on pass so I had no official capacity to act, hence my silence. They told everyone to lie down, started rough handling everyone. Some started going door to door, pounding and shouting that everyone must come out. I tried talking to the one I sensed was the most senior and he shunned me. I didn't argue or drag. They checked their tablet and kept pointing at the car, "oga na the car be this. Tracker no dey lie." While they were at it, 4 vans filled with soldiers arrived, and 6 of them came into the compound. Upon seeing them, I got up immediately and told everyone on the floor to stand.

We started asking questions, and they said the car belonged to a yahoo boy and it was seized by the EFCC. They claimed the car was missing from their lot and they have been tracking it for over 4 months, so I had Olamide describe the vendor's location and calls were made to Lagos, some soldiers and some members of the Lagos RRS stormed the place, picked up the seller and began interrogating him. That's where things went dark.

The car seller has an active agreement with a handful from the EFCC. If a young guy buys a car, they install trackers and sell it to him, wait for some days and bust the guy, retrieve the car and arrest him while tagging him a yahoo boy. The car is then returned to the car dealer and the dealer gives EFCC their own share from the car sales proceeds. The mechanic is in on it also.

After all these exposé, I realized that we have a very long way to go as a country.

To the young men, do your research before you walk into any dealership to buy a car. Ask questions, swallow pride. That 24-48 hours of information gathering will save you a long time in prison.

Many Nigerians are obsessed with forgiveness. It's like we've turned mercy into a shield for monsters, and it only breeds more chaos.
Let me share something that happened to a family I know closely.

There was this man, a solid guy with a wife, two daughters, and a son. His brother begged him to let his own son, the nephew, 17yrs come stay with them while schooling, since their house was closer to the school. At first, the wife wasn't having it, but after some back and forth, she agreed.

The boy moved in, and for the first year, everything seemed fine. No red flags, just normal family life.
Then things turned dark. The nephew started molesting their youngest daughter, just 10 years old. It began with fingering, but he escalated to full rape. Can you imagine? His own cousin.

The parents had always drilled it into their kids: "Your body is yours; no one touches it without permission, and if they do, we'll fight for you tooth and nail." But the boy threatened her, saying he'd kill her if she spoke up. He'd even bathe her afterwards, clean her up, and slip her painkillers as if nothing happened.

One day, the girl couldn't hide the pain anymore and told her parents. They rushed her to the hospital, and the doctor confirmed forced penetration. The girl pointed straight at her cousin, and her parents believed her without question. The mother said, "My child doesn't lie," and the father also said, "If she says it's him, then it's him."

Now, here's where the "forgiveness" circus kicked in. The whole family swarmed them, uncles, aunts, even the church pastor begging on their knees. "Forgive him, he's young, it's a mistake." The brother's wife, the parents, and everyone were crying for mercy. But the man wasn't moved.

He called the police and had them arrest the nephew, his own brother, the brother's wife, and even threatened to lock up his parents if they kept pushing. The pastor was arrested too for meddling😂😂 The man was brutal.

He ended up jailing about ten people just for trying to beg as accomplices. If you showed up at his door with pleas, you'd be eating prison beans next.

They dragged it to court, and the man spared no expense. His wife's brothers, who are loaded with cash, backed him fully to ensure the nephew got a stiff sentence long years behind bars. He disowned his brother outright and nearly cut off his parents.
The wife's family even said that if he hadn't acted, they'd have rounded up him and his kin too. No mercy.

When people asked why he couldn't just forgive, he laid it out plain: "If we keep forgiving abusers and rapists, they'll multiply like weeds in society. People will start seeing it as normal because there are no consequences." He added, "Family in Africa, especially Nigeria, enables these predators by always begging for forgiveness, protecting them until another innocent child suffers. Let him rot in prison that's one less rapist walking free."

As the wise Chinua Achebe once wrote, "The world is like a mask dancing; if you want to see it well, you do not stand in one place."

We've been standing still too long on this forgiveness thing, and it's costing us our children's safety. Forgiveness has its place, but for heinous crimes like this? It only decays the fabric of our society further. We need more men like him, standing firm against the tides.

FORGIVENESS SHOULD NOT ERASE CONSEQUENCES. EVEN GOD FORGIVES BUT DON'T TAKE AWAY THE CONSEQUENCES.

A lady has called out the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu, for allegedly failing to acknowledge her provisional request that would have allowed her to write her exams despite her impaired vision. I didn’t expect anyone sensible to tweet like this sincerely, all cos they support a particular government.

But for your own good, I will school you @OgbeniAdugbo

I paid 250k as tax monthly in Nigeria but NEVER for once got any benefit for that tax, NOT ONCE SINGLE BENEFIT.
Infact the local government will always go to my wife’s pharmacy to harass her for taxes again.
Instead, I provided my water & light, rode on horrible roads that made me change shocks every year or there about, I queued to get fuel I would pay for every other month, etc.

However, My first job in the same Canada you highlighted, I paid almost $1,000 as tax monthly. But guess what…

— the government gives my 2 kids $1,100 monthly for just being kids (the more the kids, the more the money @ about $550 per child);

— I see the doctor for FREE each time & whenever I see the doctor

— my wife gets free antenatal care, scans and free hospital delivery when she gets pregnant

— the roads are so good, I may not have to change my tyres in 7 years, not the shocks or get damaged by roads

— if you lose your job, you get paid $2,500 monthly for being jobless pending you get another job

These are just a few among many others.

So never ever in your life compare the tax & the benefits of other good countries with that of Nigeria, Never.
This is a subject that should never even come up for discussion ever again.

And until Nigeria gets it right in leadership, taxes will continue to be paid by Nigerians & the corporations, & stolen by people in power.
