Our recent work presents a 1-gram wireless mesoscope for cortex-wide imaging at single cell resolution in naturally behaving mice, published in @Nature . It's interesting to see large-scale neural activities in multiple mice within a very natural habitat. https://t.co/Nbp67KFTDc

https://t.co/wpESgZ346v Delighted to share our new study published in Nature. By imaging skin cells in living mice over five months, we uncovered that female stem cells divide in a more coordinated way than in males.
My paper on motor cortex during free flight in bats is online. The dynamics look quite different from the usual picture. Maybe because flight is a hard control problem: hand-like wings, many degrees of freedom, millisecond precision.

@NovembreGiacomo@ateshkoul@felixbigand With the article published, we are planning to write a review on rhe mechanisms that support interbrain synchrony in various frequencies. Hope to get your input on this.
The title says it all :)

Instead of focusing on single neurons, they make sense of neural activity by chopping each trial at task events and summarizing the whole population.

@MillerLabMIT Thanks for the tweet! We are finding that different frequencies may contribute to social information processing / social interaction in different ways! We hope to study how single neuron activities contribute to this synchronized brain activity.
Theta rhythms may support social interactions.
(We are finding that theta provides a broader temporal scaffold, organizing local processing at higher frequencies, gamma vs alpha/beta).

Excited to see our AIND work published in Nature!
Using Neuropixels recordings of identified LC:NE neurons during dynamic foraging, we found cortical-projecting NE neurons carry robust reward prediction error signals linked to flexible learning.
Huge congrats to the team!!
🎉Excited to share our new results in self-ordered working memory tasks! Thanks Erin and my two clever gamers 🐒

Here are some of the songs I've been listening to this summer. It starts with a song Michelle and I love by Glen Hansard, a great musician who passed tragically this week. Our hearts go out to his family.
I built a browser tool for planning injections and probe insertions on the Allen CCF: flat-skull corrected coordinates, bregma calibration, probe path analysis, figure export.

Most neurons seem to be generalists, not specialists. Cortical circuits prioritize diversity over categorical structure.
