@twumblunni@NoNonsenseND I'm a size 7 too. What style / colour of plimsoll are you after ?
School style black elastic, lace up, velcro ?
They all can be found on line .
@celtic_jaime Just had an old pair on. In their time they have ranged from seriously uncool to super cool and retro. No longer made new to buy in the UK .
@JamesRoderickB@artinsociety Or a sign of being frugal?
I admire the fact that she would rather spend £10 of a pair of black plimmies ( elasticated? ) than £150 of her ( and maybe your ) money on some plasticky trainers with a logo that doubles the price!
@80s_Kidz I never had any at school in the 80s, I was wearing Marbot laced plimsolls ( remember those? ).
I did get DGF as a 80s uni student for the first time and many pairs since.
They have gone in and out of being cool over the decades. Not sold now, so just old stocks at a price!
@Wise1Philosophy@TheRealDudja Eurimco. It was a cheap plimsoll brand from India that many of would of worn examples of in our youth in the 80s and 90s . Pictured is a well worn example from the 1990s.
@ladyofold @Pippisell Sandshoes or sannies was and is a name used in parts of Scotland. Sandshoes was at one stage a more popular name than plimsolls, but a longtime ago.
@Jim_C_Wells@LouiseLearJones@Mervynsmith13 If ships went over Samuel Plimsoll's loading line they risked sinking. If plimsolls the shoe has water going deeper than the rubber sides the canvas gets wet. I thik that is the connection
