Sleep Deez, a well-respected producer who has worked with BTS, has confirmed via his inside source at the Grammys that BTS were, in fact, gonna be the guinea pigs/test dumbies/poster child for the "Asian Pop Performance" category.
They wanted to legitimize it as a "win-win" for both BTS and the segregation of Asian artists by the Academy. What they did NOT expect was that BTS would have self-respect/self-worth and thought they would be DESPERATE for western/Grammys validation. That is why you see them coke ranting on every social media platform.
Eu usei melodias do folk cantonês nessa música*. Eu usei instrumentos chineses. Eu a escrevi e produzi.

@selvyrrr be so for real u know the girl can sing, if you don’t like her music just say that why can’t people just dislike music normally without making a whole post about it
The hatred kpop stans have for bts is stronger than the love they have for their own faves cause they’re working overtime to prove the Grammys aren’t racist, even tho their own faves are victims too, all because bts were the ones with the balls to speak up
we're not talking enough about the rule that says if a song is entered into the best asian pop category, it cannot compete in any other performance categories. i wonder why harvey mason jr didn't mention that part in his response
@jiminahobss Mind you bts was at even bigger disadvantage 😭Kpop has never had more eyes on it then now and songs can go viral much easier with how much larger social media has gotten
