Good article. Our gut immune system is amazingly designed to develop life-long TOLERANCE to things we eat in our first 2-3 yrs of life. When we raise kids in a “hyper clean” urban environment they are primed for developing later food & environmental allergies. #LETKIDSEATDIRT
Seems like an ideal way to monitor what’s happening with COVID 19 in a local population... beats testing everyone with a cough or sniffles and gives you a 7 days heads up that an outbreak is coming... I hope we see lots more studies confirming this. https://t.co/npcwYLJqwV
So, now there is evidence our microbiome interfaces with our mental state. The microbiome-human health relationship grows ever more complex. Should make us think twice about messing up our patients’ microbiomes by non-indicated antibiotics! https://t.co/ZBx4DDEJuL
@GutGirlMD@HeartOTXHeartMD Thank you for the compliment! It is a great privilege to have such an amazing person as you be willing to turn to those with a ‘few’ more gray hairs for counsel. “A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,” Proverbs 1:5
Well, this is disturbing but I guess not unexpected. Since the creation of these “wonder materials” in the 50s, our total environment is covered with micro particles of plastic. We are all eating, drinking and I presume breathing these bits all the time😳

It is unusual that you see any good C.diff news. But this study in the Am J Infect Control 2018;46[7]:840-842 showed a 55% decrease over a five year stretch in long term care facilities. The mechanisms may be decreased inpatient use of floxins.

Can we at least get one more blip when your ‘grandkids turn 4’? That is my kids response to their children asking about dinosaurs...”go ask your grandpa”!😄. #YOUCANSTILLLEARNAFTER50
An interesting study of colon cancer + fusobacterium relationship to the inflammatory index of your diet... It appears to relate primarily to right sided cancers. Does diet cause dysbiosis then inflammation then cancer or vice versa? #YOUAREWHATYOUEAT

Yes, this is a scary epidemic. It is clearly at least in part a diet related disorder, but it is not just obesity... it appears again “you are what you eat” is actually “your microbiome is what you feed it” ... and it may kill you😬! a great review: https://t.co/GXpobQRtrT
This contamination of supplements with unknown potentially toxic substances seems to also be accounting for an increasing proportion of drug induced liver injury (DILI).
