@GMIgorSmirnov The point is to keep black's bishop blocked from the entire diagonal by its own pawn. If pawns takes d4 then Kd3 which prevents black from pushing d3. If bishop takes still Kd3 bishop moves away then Ke4 causing black's pawn to block his own bishop.

@_metahelix@chess_feed g3 is not checkmate but it forces Ke6 which the takes us back to the first case where you win the rook and queen. You need the g3 intermediate move before taking the rook which I think is the whole point of the puzzle.
@chess_feed It a ridiculous position. Unless black is deliberately setting himself up for that shiet there is no way to herd that king to h1 with only one rook. You need a king and a rook or both rooks to corner that king, so having castling right at this point is just ridiculous.
