I would probably start with, well, he was in Lexington for 14 long seasons and made an in-conference move away from the most involved fanbase in CBB. What do you mean ‘Why do they care’? Of course they care.

He’s one of the sports’ most popular figures and now coaches at a program you will play against every single season 2-3 times minimum.

The way the break up happened — He made a video with the AD announcing coming back and in just single-digit days later decided to leave.

He was in the biggest spotlight for a decade and a half and is still an active coach — not retired which would change this convo drastically — so that spotlight still follows him.

If you can’t come up with the answer on why UK fans are interested in what is going on with him — at least in year 1 — you’re a fool or you’re just putting on a show for content.
