every person who has used #SaveStargate…
I know it feels quieter.
That’s what happens with every campaign.
The headlines move on.
People return to their daily lives.
The excitement settles.
But this is the moment that matters most.
Not when everyone is watching.
When they aren’t.
Because this is where movements either fade away… or prove what they’re really made of.
We didn’t come this far because it was easy.
We came this far because we believed something worth fighting for should never be abandoned.
More than 110,000 people have already stood together and said the same thing:
Stargate deserves another chapter.
That hasn’t changed.
Every post still matters.
Every conversation still matters.
Every recommendation to a new viewer still matters.
Every signature still matters.
We may not all post every day anymore.
But together, we’re still here.
Remember, the people making decisions aren’t just watching the biggest spikes in activity.
They’re watching whether the passion lasts.
Whether people move on…
Or whether the community keeps showing up.
So let’s keep showing up.
Not with anger.
Not with hostility.
But with the same hope, curiosity and humanity that Stargate taught us in the first place.
Keep introducing new people to the series.
Keep sharing your favourite moments.
Keep reminding the world why this franchise still matters.
Because every new fan is another reason the story deserves to continue.
The Gate has always represented exploration.
And no great journey ever ended because the road became difficult.
We haven’t reached the end of ours.
The Gate is still waiting.
We shall not go quietly into the night.

To the leadership at @AmazonMGMStudio,
You announced Stargate with pride.
You called it “a brand new chapter.”
You assembled one of the people who helped build the franchise.
You brought @bradtravelers and @BaronDestructo back into the fold.
You completed a 20-week writers’ room.
Scripts were written.
Pre-production had begun.
Then, seven months later, you walked away.
The explanation given was that it relied too heavily on the existing franchise.
But that’s exactly what fans wanted.
And it’s what new fans would have discovered and come to love.
There’s an old saying:
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.
Stargate didn’t need to abandon its identity to welcome a new audience. It needed to do what it had always done—tell great stories in a universe people cared about.
We’ve seen the risks of trying to distance a franchise from what made it successful. Many Doctor Who fans were critical of the show’s recent direction and wanted a return to what they felt made the Doctor compelling in the first place. Simply changing direction doesn’t automatically bring in new audiences, and it can alienate existing ones.
A continuation that respects its history isn’t a weakness.
It’s a strength.
Today, more than 110,000 people have signed a petition.
The cast have spoken.
The producers have spoken.
Fans have flown banners over your studios.
They’ve lit up Times Square.
They fill the comments under your posts asking one simple question:
Why?
If Stargate no longer fits Amazon’s vision, then don’t let one of science fiction’s greatest franchises gather dust.
Give it to a studio that believes in it.
Give it to a studio that respects the fans who made it what it is.
Because stories like Stargate don’t belong on a shelf.
They belong through the Gate.
#SaveStargate
A lot of folks have asked why I jumped into the #SaveStargate campaign.
Truth is, this was never about how many episodes I appeared in.
It was about supporting friends, standing behind a cast and crew I respect and recognizing one of the most passionate fan communities out there. The Stargate universe has meant a great deal to a lot of people for a very long time.
When people care that deeply about something and work that hard to keep it alive, I’m happy to lend my voice.
Some things are worth getting loud about.

@DavidZorkocy Martin Gero’s Stargate or bust!
No more reboots.
No more re-imaginings.
No more destructive uncreativity and ideologic slop.
#SaveStargate#Stargate
Dear Amazon… it is Martin Gero’s Stargate or bust!
We have no interest in a reboot. We have no interest in a “new creative direction”. We have no interest in something made for “modern audiences”
We want THIS Stargate from THESE creators! That’s it!
If you make something else and slap a Stargate name on it… we will not show up. We will actively boycott!
Your future generic “modern audiences” slop will fail without us!
You either succeed with us or fail without us! That is your only choice! #SaveStargate
You have already written the show! YOU HAVE ALREADY SPENT THE MONEY!
It's a very significant blip. It's a microcosm of everything wrong with the country.
1) Rules are made by bureaucrats, not elected politicians
2) We can't question the rules
3) We have no recourse when the government rules against us
4) Our rights are meaningless
5) The media is bought by the government
6) Government will use whatever force is necessary to get compliance from the citizens
7) Police officers are morally bankrupt
8) Politicians are gutless
9) Canadians are living in blissful ignorance
10) History keeps repeating itself
I am a licensed Canadian Veterinarian with 30 years of relevant knowledge, skill set and experience.
In my professional opinion, there is no humane way to cull these birds due to their inherent behaviour:
Heavy mass.
Spindly legs that fracture easily. Prone to running without self preservation.
Very resistant to ammunition. Almost impossible to herd. Highly sensitive.
Poor target zones- size and location.
Easily triggered by noise and movement.
So, to humanely cull them in group numbers is virtually impossible. Meaning it would take high level skill to euthanize one humanely, let alone 396!
Again, in my opinion, there is no reason to cull at this point and every reason not to. Really good reasons not to.
Furthermore, the types of folks they have brought in to perform the cull are not animal welfare trained.
From an outside perspective, the current situation seems to be a case of injured ego at the individual management level (can’t back down mindset) and governmental loss of control to a non-Canadian oversight organization. Little to no sovereignty. (Zero SOE reason at present). Literally the CFIA should not be governed by a non-sovereign organization, who truly does not care about these birds’ welfare.
Those who could speak out are fearful to do so bc of potential loss of employ, licensure, livelihood and personal security- with good reason considering the unfairness we have seen and experienced throughout the past few years. Namely, severe penalties and incarceration for peaceful assembly and free speech rallying.
Canada is not the free and dependable country it once proudly was.
At some point someone has to point this out despite the personal risk. (There shouldn’t be any risk to do so, in a democracy.)
I, personally, am appalled and deeply negatively affected by these proceedings and can see the clear necessity to stop this unnecessary, traumatic cull from an ethical animal welfare perspective.
Public safety can be achieved through individual testing, observation for symptomology, isolation of any unwell individuals and possibly euthanasia of those that develop symptoms.
Certainly a widespread cull is only going to cause mass injury, mass panic, massive suffering.
The challenge is the species and its inherent behaviour. There are very few humane options for culling a large number of ratites at once.
Therefore management and individual testing is only humane option.
I would use a humane chute or gated graduated channel system to move them safely and calmly. Collect sample and release to sorting pens. The process should be as quick as possible.
My personal professional opinion is:
Humane treatment is paramount.
The cull is unnecessary at this point.
The governance needs to reconsider their position and see current shift away from necessity to cull. To understand that it is more beneficial to work with the natural immminity and preserve it for future use from a global health benefit perspective. The urgency to cull has long gone as the herd has self maintained its health.
“Transmission without symptoms is largely a fallacy”-Dr. Byram Bridle.
The birds are now geographically well contained and asymptomatic.
They contain recovered natural immunity antibodies -the best and most robustly protective type.
They could be an important reservoir of genetics and immunity for the prevention of an avian influenza pandemic. It is in the public protection interest to preserve this reservoir of antibodies.

Statement from the Okanagan Humane Society in regards to the ostriches
❤ Today at OHS...We stand with the Universal Ostrich Farm in Edgewood, BC. Part of a letter sent to CFIA September 21, 2025:
The Okanagan Humane Society requests a further stay for the Ostrich Farm Cull, and calls for a scientific review of this and the protocols and processes which have lead to the decisions made by CFIA, including disclosure of the scientific basis leading to the decisions made.
The owners and residents in these communities and across the world are not being given sound, logistical reasoning for the cull and do not understand why retesting the animals is not being allowed.
If all the birds in the flock are healthy and there are no positive tests for Avian flu in them currently how is this justified?
Respectfully please pause this order further and conduct a full review.
The world is letting us know with hundreds of phone calls and emails today that they are watching. The Okanagan Humane Society continues to advocate for the flock and to request testing and sound reasoning for the cull.
Romany Runnalls
Executive Director
Okanagan Humane Society
It takes a lot of bravery to speak out after a horrific tragedy like this. We thank Naeem Farooqi for speaking out with the truth about the crime crisis in our country, and we send our sincerest condolences to him over the tragic murder of his brother.
