📝 Admin note on the playlist / version concerns:
A lot of you are asking why we’re not streaming every cover all day. Fair. Here’s the simple answer.

The drop is real. That doesn’t mean the playlists are the whole problem.

From last year to May, accounts were getting logged out and deleted every other day. We tested for weeks. Taking versions out of the playlists is what stopped that. We were also losing 6–8M streams on month-end audits. That’s why we’re not loading every cover into the method NOT because we like making it complicated.

Shorter playlists and focusing one cover were working until a few days ago. Then Spotify changed again. Long 3–3.5 hour playlists get you flagged as a sleeper account. We test more than one thing, and we check a few regions before we share new playlists. Follow @spotifyforV. We won’t guide you incorrectly.

You can stream every version and go 60WA. We won’t promise your accounts survive. Spotify also blocked maildrop, 33mail, and other temp emails, so losing an account is harder to replace now. Take that risk on your own.

Copy the playlist to your own account. Use short playlists during the day and longer ones at night if that fits your schedule. That’s fine. It still won’t fix algorithm changes or the fact that we need more people actually streaming.

The current method came from tests, not guesses. If something better holds up, we’ll share it. Until then, don’t throw out the setup that kept accounts alive. Add more accounts and keep pushing. Even half effort still counts for more than dropping it completely.

It is interesting to observe what happened at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

iHeart did not reveal a new ability in Taehyung; it placed something that had already been there for years in front of a broad audience, outside the fandom’s usual bubble: distinctive vocals, dance, groove, commanding presence, and stage interpretation.

He had already been delivering all of this for years.

What changed was the “context of perception.”

In front of a festival audience, an international audience watching the broadcast, viewers who do not necessarily follow every detail of BTS’s journey, and media coverage extending beyond the fandom’s usual bubble, Taehyung’s vocal stability came to be perceived almost unanimously as the standout element of the performance — alongside his dancing, stage presence, and aesthetics.

And this reveals something quite interesting about the way part of ARMY perceived Taehyung’s performance.

For years, many aspects of his artistic ability were filtered through the titles and positions assigned within the group.

As if a position determined the limits of an artist.

V did not need to be given a position that predicted his impact. He created enough impact to make the position irrelevant.
