It's official - we made it on the ballot!!! 🎉 Several weeks ago, we turned in 31,000+ signatures to the City of Denver. As of today those signatures have been validated, securing us a spot on Denver's 2024 ballot with both a fur ban AND slaughterhouse ban. #ProAnimalFuture

BREAKING RESCUES: During the #SonomaRescueTrial, DxE investigators returned to Sunrise egg farm and Reichardt Duck Farm to document criminal animal cruelty and continue saving lives. While Deputy District Attorney Robert Waner has been busy prosecuting animal rescue, activists have been busy exposing the real crimes, including birds left with painful, untreated injuries and diseased ducks collapsed on their backs slowly starving to death. Today, we are sharing the stories of two of the animals we've saved in the past several weeks, Elsie and River, and we are demanding that the Sonoma County District Attorney finally address the rampant criminal activity at Sunrise and Reichardt. Please join us by going to https://t.co/jiuITdCxg2. #RightToRescue #ProsecuteSunrise #ProsecuteReichardt
BREAKING: The jury has found animal rescuer Wayne Hsiung GUILTY on three of the four charges in the #SonomaRescueTrial. This includes felony conspiracy and misdemeanor trespass at Sunrise Farms and misdemeanor trespass at Reichardt Duck Farm. The jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on the felony conspiracy charge from the Reichardt action, resulting in a “hung jury” mistrial on that charge. The mass open rescues at Sunrise and Reichardt that led to this trial were last-resort efforts to aid animals after the authorities ignored repeated reports showing clear evidence of criminal animal cruelty. Instead of stopping the animal abuse, the Sonoma County District Attorney went after the animal rescuers, but this conviction won’t stop us from taking action we know is legally and morally right to aid suffering animals. Wayne will absolutely be appealing this conviction. #RightToRescue
Cross-examination of Picklesimer begins with Mills asking Picklesimer, "You're vegan, correct?"
"That's incorrect."
"Vegetarian, then?"
Picklesimer explains that they aren't really interested in labels around individual consumer practices, but that vegetarian is probably accurate. They explain that they play basketball and own a rubber basketball, but occasionally play pickup games with others' leather basketballs. They also watch the show Game of Thrones, which abuses horses in its production. For these reasons, "vegan" isn't accurate, they explain.
Mills asks if Picklesimer consumes animal products, They say yes, they accidentally consumed cheese the other day. Mills confirms that Picklesimer doesn't intentionally consume animal products. Picklesimer admits that they avoid consuming animals and animal products.
"Most people would call that veganism?"
"I don't think I fit that description." Picklesimer admits that they try not to eat animal meat, but they might not go through personal effort to avoid all food that necessitates animal exploitation, speaking of animals hurt in the production of foods that aren't animal based.
Mills asks if Picklesimer intentionally consumes dairy cheese, eggs, and milk. Picklesimer does not.
The prosecutor in the #SonomaRescueTrial wants to keep criminal animal cruelty in the dark, so we need your help to show the world. Please share this video and show your support for the #RightToRescue.
