- had random matchmaking (no SBMM)
- had 3-laned, simple maps
- less realism, more arcade-like gameplay
- rewarded players for doing well with powerful killstreaks
- traditional prestige system that made it satisfying to rank up
- gave power to the player by allowing map voting and no lobby disbanding
- delivered consistent content where we KNEW what we were getting, in a way, map packs were honestly better

I don’t know if we will ever see COD return to its roots and it sucks, but it is what it is and to an extent I understand why. Just a shame so much of what MADE Call of Duty, has been forgotten 😔
