Darius Acuff Sr. to me on the noise around his son's defense:
"It's a competitive sport, so it comes with the heat. But he doesn't listen to any of that. He knows he can be better defensively, & he's going to show that he is. He's ready for that challenge. He'll be fine."
In case there was any doubt, I'm told that Kings second-round draft pick Emanuel Sharp will most definitely be a roster player for Sacramento, avoiding a two-way player deal.
The Sacramento Kings declined their team option for Killian Hayes, a league sourced told @spotrac.
Hayes will now be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
BREAKING: Due to sizable distance apart in negotiations, Detroit Pistons restricted free agent center Jalen Duren will meet with the Sacramento Kings at the start of free agency with the intentions of structuring a sign-&-trade out of Detroit.
Emmanuel Sharp posted this back in May before he ever got drafted by the Kings. The Kings jersey is the only pre draft workout jersey he posted indicating he been knew he was getting drafted by the Kings.
"This guy's a proven winner. He doesn't take losing lightly... This dude is going to bring 'DA5 Showtime Live' to Sactown, and turn y'all into a show town."
Darius Acuff Jr.'s youth coach, Virgil “Coach V” Phillips, joined @KaylaAndersonTV & @BrendenNunesNBA to share some GREAT stories about the new Kings PG:

Former super star guard and former Sacramento King on Darius Acuff:
"He's a winner, he's a leader...he's my favorite player in the draft."

Right after Emanuel Sharp was picked, Houston coach Kelvin Sampson got a phone call from Kings GM Scott Perry.
“Emanuel has a pathway to the floor,” Sampson said by phone from Tampa, Fla. “They’re drafting him to come in and play. That’s an awesome opportunity for him.”
