Three of five major cable news networks (Fox News, CNN, MS NOW) reported TV milestones in October based on differing metrics, and all three logged substantial increases in digital engagement beyond TV.
And all three are going to compete on Nov. 3. https://t.co/OtYjIdP1rT
Everything is TV!
Google with a crazy stat on their earnings all:
"Living room accounted for over one-third of total YouTube ads revenues." — CBO Philipp Schindler
First on @TheDeskDotNet: Local TV broadcaster E. W. Scripps Company has started a new round of buyouts and layoffs as the company pushes more automated, AI-based techniques and processes on local news-producing stations. https://t.co/2chyVuj88l $SSP
What stood out to me: YouTube ad revenue grew 15 percent during Q3 2025, but YouTube ad revenue growth slowed to 9.3 percent during Q3 2026.
Red flag, given that this is a political year when candidates and causes are spending big against social media and social video. 🚩🚩🚩
EARNINGS: YouTube posted higher advertising revenue during the third quarter (Q3) of the year, per new results from parent company Alphabet. But a shift from search to chat is raising questions about Google's ability to continue long-term ad revenue growth. $GOOG

Wall Street reacting positively to news of higher political ad forecast and end of layoffs (for now) at E. W. Scripps, but stock price still down nearly 12 percent compared to last month when 430 more people were employed. $SSP
@StephenFleming@BrendanCarrFCC I don't know if you've ever been to prison (I have) but guards also use their cellphones, and many are issued phones for government business.
Also, guards, in their off time, do like checking in on family and friends, scrolling through Facebook, etc. — just like everyone else.
This will make America less safe, because jammers are indiscriminate: They will also affect the cell phones and radios that guards and other prison staffers use, too. The FCC has not built guardrails around that.
MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN 🇺🇸
Today, I announced the FCC will vote to authorize prisons to jam contraband cellphones for the first time ever.
Almost 500,000 inmates now have access to them and 25,000 phones are seized in jails annually.
Inmates are using them at exceptionally high rates to order hits, run drug operations, enable CSAM abuse of young kids, and many more awful acts.
We are now giving state and local prisons & jails a tool they’ve been denied for years.
Grateful for the chance to get this across the finish line.
FIRST ON THE DESK: Fox One is launching interactive features during the 2026 midterm election, including a new "Election Hub" that collates reporting from its local TV stations and Fox News, and a new AI tool that answers questions from viewers.

I have a feeling the reason why no other cereal company tried this is because the expense of making the bag resealable wasn't worth it, and some cereal makers hoped stale product would convince customers to buy it more frequently than the otherwise would.
But just a guess.
Cheerios is boldly going where no cereal has gone before: a resealable Ziploc bag.
The option will be available on Original and Honey Nut Cheerios beginning Tuesday, online at Walmart, before rolling out to retailers nationwide in the coming months. https://t.co/kJQxKLKOxK
