Having Bones with the final group to explain the architecture of Riviera and the strategy required for every shot seems like something we should have to pay extra for.
Luckily for the Wolves there was nowhere to go but up. But taking something old, rounding off the edges and calling it a throwback almost always ends up being pretty just okay, like these.

...for a while. Used to always go to Twins-Dodgers, but between game tickets, hotels and food it's gotten far too expensive to justify. Sad. Plenty of other, cheaper places in the US to see sports at.
Things that impressed me at @uswomensopen in random order:
1. Bones. Never uses notes. Everything you hear is memory.
2. Gabby Lopez and Jennifer Kupcho. Made of stuff.
3. The whole area around the 1st tee being chaotic yet manageable.
4. This swing by Brooke Henderson
- I didn't really feel "history" at Riviera, which was strange.
- I always like to note how visible the members are. Riviera members were out there, but inconspicuous, much like at LACC. Olympic still takes the cake for I AM A MEMBER HERE energy.
- Probably my last trip to LA...
