@HighgateBill I agree. Was a rather busy day and the stories in the running order were changing through the day so I had too little time to keep up with them all
A thoughtful piece from @EvanHD including some reflections on our political generation and the changes Britain has gone through over the past few decades. Worth a read.

As I told @EvanHD, civil servants do not choose that career if they are uncomfortable serving different ministers or governments of different political persuasions.
But they do get frustrated when change is happening for change’s sake.
This is what gets in the way of good government.
📻 It was great to hear our latest report The Good Life? discussed in such depth in yesterday’s @BBCRadio4 programme by @EvanHD and @CatRentzenbrink.
In addition to discussing key findings from the report, Cathy touched on her own personal experiences with social mobility and the mixed feelings that come along with moving up in the world.
💬 “So you might have thought people who are on an upward trajectory would be the happiest cause they start with not much, end up with a lot. So, the reality, well, exceeds the expectations. But it does just seem it doesn't work that way. And that's what's so interesting about this.”

“I don't think I've actually ever had any interview clip that has provoked so many memes.”
Piers Morgan talks to @EvanHD about his viral interview with Russell Brand.
Brand is currently facing multiple allegations of rape and sexual assault, and denies all charges.
@afneil Not commenting on Reeves's fiscal policy, but it's worth saying that the final fiscal protections of the last government were based on
1. A big planned drop in investment spending and
2. Unspecified current spending allocations that were considered extremely challenging
Just pointing out that I broke the story 7 months ago that Mandelson failed vetting from the security services and put it to Downing Street...so the idea that Downing Street only found out on Tuesday is complete nonsense.

It has been great to hear the #PM programme on @BBCRadio4 engaging with the residents of rural Scotland (especially farmers), people who are rarely given a voice in the national media.
The UK's geographical extremities are both too interesting and too important to ignore. Please follow up with visits to Cornwall, Ceredigion, Coleraine, and Kirkwall.

Drip prices – when booking fees, VAT, service charges etc are only added after you’ve chosen a product – are illegal.
The AA driving school has been fined.
📻 I’m on @BBCPM, 5.40pm with @EvanHD to discuss. Have you seen them? On cinema/flights?

@dgbailey@jonwalker121 I'm so sorry to hear such sad news David. Just so so sad. Just reading about her, it's clear she had a wonderfully fulfilling life, not least from meeting you. All my love
@FortinusGlobal@DavidDavisMP Isn't there a huge difference here as far as a court would be concerned? The Rwanda scheme was designed for any or all arrivals, without the UK accepting or considering an asylum application. This European version is for those who have been considered and rejected for asylum, no?
Really good explainer from @EvanHD for those considering heat pumps in their homes. My takeaway … you’ll never get ‘toasty’ or super warm. Think of heat pumps as background heating - and use other heat sources on really cold days https://t.co/FLjpJV8ON2
