@bazz_27@poyzalenko@cleary_mitch@7NewsMelbourne@AFL My whole point is these kids need time to develop before being thrown into the elite of the elite and expecting their bodies to hold up. Just remember that only 5 months prior they are playing against 17-18 year olds at 60-70kg, with the odd stand out being 84kg and ready to play
@bazz_27@poyzalenko@cleary_mitch@7NewsMelbourne@AFL Bazz, apologies if I sound like a dick, but going from training potentially 6 hours a week whilst completing year 12, to a full time job in elite sport, your body’s going to take a beating. Kids need a chance to develop, for most them their balls have only dropped 5 years prior.
@bazz_27@poyzalenko@cleary_mitch@7NewsMelbourne@AFL Hospitalisations by Age Group:
Data from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) for the 2021–22 period indicates that the highest number of hospitalisations due to Australian rules football injuries occurred in the 15–19 age group. This suggests a higher incidence
@jimbosteen1@poyzalenko@bazz_27@cleary_mitch@7NewsMelbourne@AFL 32 of the 59 drafted didn’t register a game of AFL football that year too. 13 of the 59 played less than 10 games.
That leaves 14 of 59 playing more than 10 games.
Some of which have already been delisted.
@bazz_27@cleary_mitch@7NewsMelbourne@AFL How many 18 year old’s make the jump from under 18s to AFL football and consistently play?
Going from training maybe 3 times a week to a full time athlete is a massive jump and adds huge amounts of strain on the body. Too often young kids are getting injured early in their caree
To this day this is still the best explanation of Big Pharma’s stranglehold on America
Now that Donald Trump has appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr as US Secretary of Health and Human Services we can finally end this racket
It’s finally coming to an end. It’s incredible.
Ok. For the 100th time - THIS IS NOT DISSENT!!! Get a thicker skin if this offends you …..or a new job. I challenge the hierarchy to change this immediately……it ain’t right.
@Tonaaayy_ Why are you getting sick of it Tony? Appreciate what he’s doing and what’s he’s achieved so far. He’s Australia’s fastest right now, that’s why he’s being labelled it. No need to throw shade at him
I got asked post game tonight about Ash Barty’s Wimbledon victory and immediately got the biggest rock in my throat and what felt like a million goosebumps.
So proud of you @ashbarty. You continue to impact people in ways you can’t even imagine. Big big fan!!!
