📣 Solon Athletic Booster Club Meeting 📣
🗓 Mon, Jan 12 | ⏰ 6:30 PM

5 Core Values of a Great Athletic Department
1. Continuity in Coaching.
Championship programs are built on stability. Continuity creates trust and consistent expectations. It also allows relationships to flourish. The best athletic departments hire great coaches, develop great coaches, and work hard to retain great coaches.
2. Work with the levels above/below.
The best high school athletic departments have programs that work well with colleges and middle schools. They build a shared system, common terminology, and aligned standards with the feeder programs, along with strong relationships with colleges to maximize exposure for athletes.
3. Great Communication
The best athletic departments have programs that are great at communicating with athletes, parents, administrators and other programs. Great communication supports accountability, reduces drama, and keeps the focus where it belongs.
4. Program Promotion
If you don’t tell your story, someone else will. Great athletic departments promote their programs. Celebrating teams and athletes builds pride, boosts participation numbers, and strengthens support.
5. Emphasis on Strength & Conditioning
All great team success starts with work when no one is watching. Great strength and conditioning programs build confidence, strength, power, and injury prevention. The Strength & Conditioning program is the heartbeat of athletics.
