@realEstateTrent I find it interesting when those same people complain about businesses not being around any more. 🤦♂️
It's self-interest to make sure that a good business you enjoy remains profitable! 💯
When is a todo list useless?
When it has items open for too long. A reminder just popped up with a 3-year past-due date.
It's time to take a hard look at what's on the list and bring it under control.
Btw...I knew it & I've been avoiding...another sign it's gone off the rails.
@jasonvana Agreed. A brand evokes emotion.
Focus on the surface areas where you touch customers and potential customers…excite them and demonstrate who you are through action
I spent more time than I care to admit trying to source a specific field in a large dataset, only to discover that the field I want/need is generated from an internal function that combs through the entire audit history (which, of course, isn’t exposed)…
@allenholub Great observation!
That's also one of the better ways to get quality feedback from users!
Deliver value quickly to help them.
The longer you make them wait to see something, the more priorities & attention shifts.
Keep them engaged and let it evolve a little at a time.
Security is always a compromise between accepted risk and inconvenience.
This judgment will (and should) vary based on context.
Access to banking...I can be inconvenienced.
Access to my points at the local coffee stand...don't inconvenience me.
@jasonvana I agree that your primary differentiator should be deeper and not so surface level.
I also find that some of these either are being done at all by competitors or aren't being done well.
I believe it's important to lead with the primary and have evidence of the other.
@SievaKozinsky I love calling references to understand someone.
Do you have any challenges with candidates providing that many quality references?
In the past I faced some challenges with candidates providing only three and often the reference wasn't able to provide enough specifics.
I don't like to share new features with the dev team before I can present it.
Why?
Because it doesn't matter:
- how much or how little I write
- how much context I share
- why it's important
Previewing it before meeting, it just never hits the mark & needs more work later.
Am I the only one that prefers a long thought over multiple posts instead of a single long post?
Whenever I click "Show more" it's like
AHHH!!! Too much text!!!
Maybe I'll get used to it...I don't know
What about you?
@realEstateTrent This is true in too many industries.
A license or certification doesn't magically convey experience or wisdom...it usually just means that you did well enough on a test.
@Davidstogl All five are great!
I think #3 is the most important and helps to keep everything moving forward during those times when things get hard (which will happen).
@Dave_Geoghegan_ Great thread.
I like the first type of relevancy on your pricing comparisons! I don't think that I have ever thought of with that specificity before.
Thanks for sharing!
@omooretweets The important part...
"Until now, users had to go to other sites to find and buy products they see on TikTok."
With the Creator boom on TikTok, now's the best time to capitalize.
Creators are invested in TikTok's success & don't have expertise to build their own marketplaces.
@agilewhitegirl Great point and very true.
I don't think it's fair to state there are no benefits to being in office *for some people*
Whether it's every day, 2-3 days a week, or less, I know we can all come up with some benefits.
For others, 100% remote works best & that's important too.
@realEstateTrent Agreed.
Even if a post adds in some political leanings, you can choose to focus on the original post or stop engaging.
Many of us are here for what interests us and interactions on that level.
